  • Return to Paradise

    by Nigel S on 2018-06-25 01:55 am

My wife and I spent two weeks in Antica Dimores last year. We don't normally return anywhere on holiday but we decided to make an exception to see if Antica Dimores really is as perfect as we remembered it. It is, and then some. This year we booked room 107, Terpsichore, the one with the balcony. Beautiful views over the town and the bay. This place is small and personal. The policy is to treat you as an honoured guest, and not just a client. And they do. Nothing seems too much trouble. The breakfast is wonderful. The rooms are well appointed and spotless. And there is that delightful little pool. You have a private oasis in the heart of old town Rethymnon.

  • 10 day holiday Antica Dimora

    by alexr30 on 2018-06-24 01:08 am

Having just returned from our holiday , Antica Dimora is one of the best places we have stayed. A small boutique hotel, the personalised service from Spyridoula and the team was perfect. The accommodation was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Of particular note, the cleaning of the room and bathroom each day were of the highest standard and it was great to be provided with clean bed linen and towels at regular intervals. The breakfasts were lovely and plentiful.
I do not use Tripadvisor to write negative reviews but I feel compelled to write reviews if the experience is exceptionally good.
Rethymnon itself is attractive and interesting but 3 days or so is enough to get a feel for the place. East of the old town is dominated by new development catering for the lower end of the German/ Russian market and therefore I wouldn't commend this particularly. Hiring a car and exploring the villages of the White Mountains to the west and Amari Valley to the east is rewarding and beaches on the south coast are quiet.
We will return to Antica Dimora and recommend it to friends and family.

  • Great character and very central

    by Steve J on 2018-06-10 02:31 am

We stayed here in the executive room with balcony for 5 nights. It's a boutique hotel right on the central street of Rethymno. In a car you are best parking at the central parking area in the middle of town and walking down. It's only EUR5 a day. The hotel has a sun area with splash pool so you can cool off at the end of the day.

The staff are very friendly and a little kooky which all helps a very warm welcome. Any receptionist who says as I worried about her carrying my heavy case 'don't worry I'm a deep sea diver', gets my vote.

Breakfast is a mix of traditional Greek and English served till 10.30 each day. There are only 3 tables so you need to ring down in advance.

Our room was very large with bedroom and a sitting area plus a balcony overlooking the old street. The only quibble is you have to hold the shower head above you, as it's simply a connect from the bath; but it's a minor issue.

Location wise the hotel is well placed for all the streets and restaurants of the beautiful old town of Rethymno and if needed the beach area is only a 10 min walk away.

    Certainly recommend a stay here.

  • Fantastic hotel and staff

    by tonifletcher57 on 2018-05-03 12:59 am

A wonderful holiday in Rethymnon, staying in this beautiful hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and really bent over backwards to make sure we had the best holiday - take a bow Vasa and Spyridoula. We had room 107 which was spotless with a huge balcony which was very private. Ample breakfast, air con, small swimming pool which we had mostly to ourselves, but I keep coming back to the staff - they were so friendly and helpful but also professional. One small niggle - the hairdryers supplied are the wall-mounted variety so absolutely useless if you have longish hair. So either bring your own or use the hair salons nearby. Location is terrific...right in the heart of the old town but just 10/15 mins walk to the beach. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants but no hard sell by the owners, everyone was so kind and actually seemed to care that you had a great holiday. Would highly recommend Antica Dimora and would go back in a heartbeat!

  • A beautiful place

    by Dr_Nico on 2017-10-13 00:53 am

The Antica Dimora Suites located just inside the gates of the old town of Rethymno is a beautiful little hotel. The rooms are old Venetian style, but with all modern amenities. It's quiet, it's air conditioned, it's got comfortable beds. It's clean! A good location on the pedestrian streets.
Breakfast is really good and the staff makes you feel like family... and make some really good coffees too?
The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly.
    This place is highly recommend!!
