  • Wonderfully wonderful

I stayed in the hotel for a family wedding. Check in was very quick and the staff were very professional. The room was large, the bed which was a four poster bed, was very big and very comfortable. A bottle of water was provided, and was actually replaced with a fresh bottle that evening, a mint was also left on my pillow. The breakfast was very nice and tasty. There is a lift provided for access to upper floors. The reception hall is separate to the main hotel and requires a walk through the grounds of the hotel but it is not that far. There is a lovely well furnished reception area for guests to sit in and chat. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, the little touches such as fresh water in the room and the pillow mint did add the extra little bit of magic to wonderful experience. I would like to thank the staff at the hotel for making my stay exceptional.

  • A perfect wedding venue.

We were guests at our friend's wedding. From start to finish everything was managed and presented brilliantly. Much was to do with our friends who had planned and thought of everything for months but the hotel did such a wonderful job on the day to support them and take away all the stress managing the ceremony, the meal and the evening reception. If you live in Ireland and are looking for a special day, you'd have to put this hotel high on a list of places that can cope with your every need.

The wedding meal was delicious and well presented, the staff were quietly efficient, and friendly. The ceremony was held in a lovely green oak conservatory - every reception room had a roaring log fire and was elegantly decorated for Christmas with subtle lighting for every setting- it was a wonderful day.

Garden room was great lunch venue, food was very good
Bedrooms are beautiful - staff are very welcoming and helpful
Location is great, away from built up areas but is easily accessed via M50 motorway.

I stayed here for two night for my sisters wedding it was amazing the staff where brilliant food excellent . The rooms are very spacious . It is in the more expensive side for every thing but it has a captive audience. Would recommend as is only 40 minutes out side Dublin City

  • Discriminates against mothers and babies. Terrible customer service.

I visited Barberstown Castle two weeks ago for lunch with friends. I was sitting in the lobby area where they were serving food that day.
As I was about to order I was advised that they could not serve me as I had my 6 month baby with me. I was told that it was their policy, and asked to leave.
I checked the hotel website and it stated that the garden bar was unsuitable for children, not that they were banned.
I was in the lobby, not the garden bar.
I was truly humiliated and terribly hurt that they would turn away a mother and small baby.
I emailed them the day it happened and to this day I still have not had a reply.
Disgusting behaviour. I hope that no other mother/father or family have to go through this.
