  • The castle from a fairy tales :)

by elenaselest on 2018-11-14 08:57 am

It was a very pleasant stay! A big castle is located in the pine forest. Very fresh air, combination of pine and sea. Helpful staff, a small but comfortable room, and a very beautiful view! Very good location-just minutes from downtown Digby and St John ferry. We are not golf players, but we enjoyed walking in the park in the evening.

  • Summer at the Pines

    by corrinas508 on 2018-11-07 04:53 am

Loved being at the Pines. Beautiful, cozy chalets over looking the water. Salt air and sunshine. The fireplace makes for nice ambiance winding down with a glass of wine in the evening. We also had a lovely dining experience and you can't beat the local entertainment. Can hardly wait to go back.

  • Excellent Classical Resort Hotel

    by trainfan2000 on 2018-11-04 05:17 am

This is a great old resort hotel in the classical style. It commands a view of the Digby harbour that is excellent. The property is old (built in 1929, Babe Ruth played a round of golf here) but is well maintained and meets today's standards of quality. The lobby is not a spectacular place, but one that is more cozy. There are some nice public rooms on the ground floor (the veranda is a great place to read a book in while enjoying the view), a nice pool and wonderful lawns to walk on or just sit in a chair and relax. Excellent dining room on site. There is ample parking available. The room was furnished in a traditional style and the bed was very comfortable. We had a jacuzzi in the room and it was large and luxurious. The staff is super friendly and willing to help in any way they can. A wonderful place to stop for a couple of days and just relax and/or play a game of golf. The town of Digby is just five minutes away as is the St. John ferry.

  • Big but comfortable

by CanadianBadger on 2018-10-24 04:24 pm

We arrived in Digby days before the Wharf Rat Rally so we didn't have much choice. I think the Rally would be a hoot but only if you're a serious biker (e.g. Harley Davidson) Having said that this was the absolute right choice, good base camp to travel about. While Digby the town is a bit run down the Pines Golf Resort is just fine, even if you don't play golf. We really enjoyed their large outdoor pool. Room was small but very nice and service excellent. I might suggest getting a cabin if you have a family travelling.

  • Excellent service even during powercut.

    by angelasH8211SP on 2018-10-24 06:04 am

One night stay here in September. Hotel had advised our tour company that there would be a major (planned) power outage on the night of our stay. Despite this staff were able to lay on a full hot buffet dinner for all guests, kept lounge bar open , with live music and provided plenty of candles and snacks to keep you going during the evening. Candles were provided for each room and placed along hallways to light your way to bed. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and plentiful.
Hotel itself is in a lovely setting, decorated to a very high standard inside and well maintained gardens outside.
Has a pool (outdoor) and is also a golf resort.
