  • Clean and comfortable in town

    by luv2travl23 on 2018-09-18 08:11 am

This hotel is in town, so its convenient to shopping and restaurants. Parking could be an issue, however we were able to park around the corner and it was free from 7 pm - 9 am. Our room was roomy and clean. They could use some luggage racks to put suitcases on. We had to use the desk and a chair. The bathroom had a nicely sized shelf for personal items and a larger than normal shower. Limited space for shower items in the shower. The shower sprayer wasn't secure so it kept sliding down. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast area is quaint and very nice. Staff is very friendly and welcoming!

  • Sooo up from last visit. Now all was perfect!

    by 1Norwegian on 2017-12-14 04:10 am

Arrived late due to train delays, was received in a warm reception teeming with life and happy sounds from all kinds of people out on a pre-Christmas spree. The atmosphere grabbed me instantly, totally changing my mood.
Was attracted to a sign on the counter: Upgrade NOK 200. Asked what that would mean, and a very charming and smiling guy just winked and said "I'll fix that!"...and up I went...to find the hotel suite...all to myself! Not since The Luxor in Las Vegas have I been in a room this size, and not since the Seychelles such luxury; separate bubble bath, and toilet w/shower, check my photos!
Alas, hunger got me, so down to the restaurant where I had a super meal of panfried cod loin on pea puree with condiments + a huge glass of Chablis (not this amount anywhere here in Oslo) before a traditional Christmas dessert of creamed rice pudding with berry sauce. YUMMY! Then up and into the bubble bath.
All staff members were great, smiling, helpful and efficient. This was a total pleasure and I highly recommend a visit to anyone with business near Sandnes.

  • Wonderful classical hotell!

by Odd Jarle J on 2017-10-11 08:21 am

This beautiful classical hotel is located right smack in the middle of downtown Sandnes.

It is a relatively small hotel so be sure to book in advance.
The rooms are classically designed, spot clean and with very soft comfy beds.

The overall design of the hotel is that of its original purpose as a brickwork with decorations in that style in both rooms and the entire hotel.

The restaurant here is particularly good. Offering short travelled gourmet style food in generous portions.
The hotels also serves to larger groups for occasions like weddings so they are perfectly suited to cater to that purpose.

Excellent service from the staff, well informed of what's around and what to do.
Truth be told I originally planned to have my own wedding here, but due to unforseen circumstances we had to move the celebration, here the hotel was very helpful and the day was saved.

As I only stayed one night (for a wedding actually) I can't add too many experiences, only that this is a great hotel!

  • Friendly staff, rooms not so clean

    by Cecilie G on 2017-07-23 011:17 pm

The rooms were nice furnished, but unfortunately not so clean. The windows was extremely dirty, and the shower cabinet could also get an extra attention from the cleaning staff.
My husband and I were staying for 1 night in this historic, nice-buildt hotel. The staff were very friendly and service minded. The breakfast buffet was very well composed with all you could desire a Sunday morning.

  • Wonderful historic hotel in the centre of Sandnes.

by pollyfalconer on 2017-06-02 06:21 am

A really lovely historic hotel, oozing charm, comfort and absolutely first class service. Despite having to cancel last minute due to the British Airways fiasco at Heathrow, the hotel not only gave us a free cancellation, but later also upgraded us to a suite on our arrival 3 days later. Our room in the eaves of the building was very spacious, charmingly decorated, lovely luxurious bed with a super spa bath in one room and separate shower room and WC. The room looked out onto the picturesque old town streets of Sandnes and was 1 minute from the train station to go to Stavanger. The food, particularly the traditional fish soup, was delicious. Wonderful ambience with many of the features of the old brick works and pottery in the reception rooms. We loved it.
