Hotel Seven one Seven

    Hotel Seven one Seven
 in Amsterdam

Before Hotel Seven one Seven became a renowned luxury hotel, the canal-side property was inhabited by a prosperous sugar trader. Now the rear side of the property, the original building dates back to the 17th century. In 1810, the house was expanded toward the Prinsengracht canal to exhibit his wealth to his fellow citizens.

At that time, the original structure of the house served as a sugar mill, with the adjacent properties also under the trader’s ownership and serving as depositories for the raw and refined sugar.

During much of the 20th century, the property fulfilled a social purpose, until 1996 when the house underwent extensive restoration. The following year, on May 8, 1997, the beautiful Hotel Seven One Seven celebrated its grand opening.

Hotel Seven one Seven, a charter member of Historic Hotels Worldwide since 2012, dates back to the 17th century.
