Overview

Constructed in 1700, the Høyevarde lighthouse has been a landmark guiding sailors along the Karmsund strait, previously known as ‘Nordvegen' or the North Passage. The current lighthouse dates back from 1858 and is comprised of a keeper's house, customs building, boathouse, warehouse, and wood-fired bakery.

Today, Høyevarde Fyrhotell offers comfortable guestrooms, a spectacular meeting room, an elegant dining room, attractive garden, and most of all, a peaceful and tranquil setting. The hotel surroundings boast significant cultural sights that have shaped the area, including a Bronze Age grave dating from 1500 BC.
