  • Unlike Most of Rome, Underwhelming

    I was pretty disappointed with this hotel. We originally had a reservation at the NH Vittorio Veneto, which I had stayed at before and absolutely loved. Hotel staff said there was a mistake and the hotel was overbooked. We were assure the other property was 5 stars and would be beautiful. We were also assured that we'd get an upgraded room for our troubles, but were sorely disappointed. My "king" bed was just two fulls mashed together and the room didn't seem to posses any additional features. Some parts of the room was very nice, but the overall lack of attention to detail (rust showing in the tub, trash not emptied, etc.) made my question the 5 stars rating. The upshot was that the staff was very nice and the huge metro station (Termini) couldn't be closer. From the Termini station, you can go anywhere in the city.

    Pro Tip: the restaurant, Culinaria, is really close and absolutely delicious!

  • Dirty bathtub, room exchange with lack of attention

    First, before you think this is overreacting please check the pictures attached.

    nothing special. The man who attended us, I think, misjudged us as tourist looking for information... he had no smile when we said "hi", no welcomes and all until we really confirmed our bookings.

    Well, regarding cleanliness this hotel is minus 5. The first picture that I attached here is from our first room. The second from the next one. THAT SPOT WAS OUR BATHTUB.... imagine you taking a shower in a bathtub with that! Disgusting!

    We, of course, asked to be moved. But then, since the next room was dirty as well, we simply gave up and asked for the lady to clean it up... when we were back from our lunch we checked the bathroom and the shower was literally left on the bathroom floor and the a dirty sponge on the bathtub (photo also attached).

    Then, we ask for a fork in our room to eat (since my sister is celiac and they don't had certificate for gluten free pizzas in their restaurant) and we were charged 8 euros (a completely joke).

    During the first two days there was no waiter in the breakfast to serve us coffee or milk (which is standard for 5 stars). Also no bottles of fresh juice to serve tables. Eggs were literally cold.


    If you really don't care about 5 stars real treatment and amenities (like Radisson Blu Berlin - a perfect establishment in my opinion)... you will probably enjoy the NH.

    This, however, is not a hotel for picky guests like us - who enjoy the money spent and ask for the equivalent treatment.

    In hotel defense, during checkout I told the receptionist that I was felling robbed about charges for simple room services after everything we went though and he remove them.

  • All was ok - and yet, disappointing

    This is a large hotel with an impressive entrance hall but the rest of the building is disappointing. Rooms are of good size but lack atmosphere, almost overly modern and cold. The wood floor is not appealing. Two chairs and a little round table do not add to the character. So while having a big room with all necessary amenities, including a coffee machine and a big and modern bathroom, something was lacking. The staff was very attentive, breakfast was excellent. Location was so so - bordering the Central Station but quite far away from many of the attractions if you want to get there by foot.

    Great hotel with excellent staff. I adore Daniel, Federica, Marcelo and Fabio who work the front desk. I believe the employees make the experience and this staff will go out of their way for guest. The recently remodeled rooms are beautiful and spacious. Location is right next to Termini station which is a plus. You can take a train from the airport direct to hotel which saves you time and money.

  • Romantic Rome

    I set of from Rome from Edinburgh with slight trepidation as i am m not a great flyer. i found out our flight time was only 2 hr 50 mins. We had great weather and a fantastic hotel next to the Termini (main transport hub) . Rome was an absolute delight and walking around for 3 days to the many Piazzas and lots of side streets gave us an authentic feel of what Rome was really like. We enjoyed Vatican City and Platine Hill but what i will remember most was the weather and the people.
    We shall return soon. One good tip buy a transport ticket we paid 36 euros for 2 x 3 day passes
    And used the metro everyday ideal for getting around QUICKLY. The Metro was not as bad as we read before our trip yes it can be busy but most of the time your only travelling for 10mins
