Royal Palms Resort and Spa

Overview
Royal Palms Resort and Spa is a romantic hideaway with the rustic splendor of a Mediterranean villa. Its 117 casitas and guestrooms serve as an oasis for guests seeking tranquility and solitude. Set in the Valley of the Sun, the hotel is located in the beautiful Phoenix-Scottsdale resort community, with the majestic Camelback Mountain providing a striking visual backdrop.
The original estate, built in 1929 and owned by New York financier, Delos Cooke, opened to guests in 1948. During the hotel’s 1997 multi-million dollar restoration, architect Don Ziebell preserved the integrity of the original 1929 mansion by incorporating architectural details, historical artifacts and antiques to maintain an overall sense of authenticity and coherence.
Entering the mansion through mahogany and iron double doors, the atmosphere is that of a lavish private residence. The grounds feature whimsical stone walkways, manicured courtyards, hidden gardens and fountains. The resort offers the Alvadora Spa and the award-winning Mediterranean cuisine of T. Cook’s restaurant
Conveniently located between the prestigious Biltmore area and popular downtown Scottsdale, Royal Palms Resort and Spa is ideally situated for business and leisure travelers with Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport only seven miles from the hotel. Unique ambiance, intimate surroundings and lush gardens evoke the sense of a faraway place, yet the resort is minutes from world-class shopping, galleries, golf and attractions.
Delos Cooke, an industrialist and nephew of J.P. Morgan, and his wife Florence built their winter home on 65 acres in 1929.
