  • A Welcome Treat In New Brunswick!

    by Katherine B on 2019-01-12 00:28 am

What a delight to have a four-star resort in the province of NB! With no less than 5 huge fireplaces, stylish interior, great chef, spacious rooms & suites, comfortable beds, good spa and obliging staff you're sure to be spoiled during your stay. We thoroughly enjoyed a 5-night stay which included the resorts 130th New Year's Eve celebration! Our suite was delightful with water view, the buffet breakfast was hot and tasty and the dinners were excellent. Hats off to the chef! Our room was clean and spacious with kitchenette which came in handy for light snacks. Being the middle of winter there was a snow storm during our stay and we were warm and cosy in the resort. What better place to be snowed in? The Christmas d?cor was lovely. The huge great room with two fireplaces was a great area for numerous games which are provided and on Friday and Saturday nights a pianist entertains. We strolled the main street each day and found some wonderful out of the ordinary merchandise in the shops! There is an indoor heated pool with a long twirling slide for children and hot tub for the adults. We tried some spa services which were very good as well. This is an exceptional escape during winter and it was so good we're heading back this summer when their outdoor pool and beach opens! We're not golfers but this course is famous and our friends rave about it! There's really something for everyone. This is an Autograph Collection hotel with Marriott one of only two in Canada! When you visit you'll see the difference! I highly recommend it.

  • Anniversary stay

Unique and great experience. Our third stay and each time a 5 star. Staff are attentive and friendly, buffet rocked, and rooms are modern yet take you back a century. Booked already for an October stay this year!

  • Nice renovations!

    by martinbutler888 on 2019-01-05 04:49 am

First time back at this hotel since it switched from a Fairmont to Autograph. Had a great stay, the renovations are really nice even tho the service level went down as Autograph is not as a luxury property as Fairmont is. Even with the lost of some services (no bellman to be found, no minibar or water in room, more casual front desk agent, compared to the more raffined service of Fairmont), this hotel is still the only place to stay while in the region.

Renovations were really overdue and they were done properly. The new stand-up showers are great! I would change the soap and shampoo tho, the smell is quite horrible.

Will be back next time I am in the region, especially since you have a Tesla Destination charger. On that note, there should be a sign that it is reserved for Telsa vehicule, when I was there, one of the car parked there was an old Toyota. If both were taken by non-Telsa, it would've been an issue as I stayed there to be fully charged the next morning and couldn't have reached the closest supercharger without this.

  • New Years Eve Weekend

Marriott Autograph Hotel in St Andrews by the Sea combines Marriott efficiency with small town grace and warmath. Dog and kid friendly, with a staff so wholesome you want to take them home with you. Food is good and satisfying. Cozy fireplaces but the seats nearby were always occupied.

  • Beautiful, but bland.

by AnonNovaScotia on 2018-12-31 09:04 am

There's no doubt that it's a beautiful hotel. But I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you absolutely had to. We were lucky that my partner was asked to be here for work, and I was allowed to accompany him free of charge. Theres no way I would pay their prices. Theres absolutely nothing to do in the area, the hotel rooms are very outdated (the toilet was in a claustrophobic closet of a room with no sink. The sink was in a different room with the shower. How does that make any sense!?) The only mirror is the one in the shower/sink room.
The plug outlets are all along the baseboard/on the floor and when we requested a microwave be brought up, we had no choice but to put it on our bedside table and connect it to the lamp plug because the cord couldn't reach all the other outlets. I understand that we came during the "off season" of the community (December), so most pubs and little restaurants were closed on weird hours. We had no choice but to eat at the Braxton's pub, or grab microwavable items from the small grocery store which was unbelievably overpriced.
We ate at Braxtons once, and had the rudest waitress. I told her no cheese, she said "okay, no cheese." while writing it on her notepad. 20 minutes later, I get a burger with cheese and when I told her, she argued with me that I didn't say that, and that she didn't hear me if I did. ANOTHER 20 minutes later, I get a new burger, this time with no sauce or any condiments that was the "GONK" sauce they were raving about, which was the point of getting the burger. Before I had even finished my burger she put the bill on my table with a pen and walked away before I could even tell her I wanted to pay with the debit machine. When she did come back with a machine, she again walked away and I ended up leaving with the machine on the table printing out the receipts as I could no longer find her. Keep in mind, the place was NOT busy. There were many empty seats and I went in the afternoon to avoid the lunch and supper craziness.

I don't see myself ever coming here again. If you like kids and dogs barking and running up and down your halls at all hours of the day and night, you might enjoy it more than me.
