  • Pricey but worth every dime! Apart from the chips...

by DJAroxx on 2019-01-17 12:04 am

You feel super special from the moment you set foot in the door.

Snappy dressed concierge great you with a smile and seductive foreign accent.

The South American girls in the front desk have huge smiles and make you feel like you have been coming here for years.

It is pretty much everything you might expect from one of the best city hotel chains in the world.

    The place is spotless.

There is a great bar to chill out in if you are feeling social and a restaurant that serves a great menu of food that means heavily towards the more expensive end of the city dining scale. The cheapest end of the main plates will be fish and chips at ?16. I thought I'd give it a go as it is a make or break dish for many paces I eat, so easy to get wrong.

It arrived and of course was beautifully presented, but lacked any zazz! If you know what I mean. It was okay but possibly ?10 more than it should have been.

The hotels location is bang in the heart of shopping and theatre land and so ideal for a special city break. There's loads to go and see as Covent Garden tube station and market is right on the hotels doorstep.

It's a must stay if you want to impress for a night or two, if you have a bigger budget or a business expense card that affords opulence.

  • Lacking festive glamour and drinkable coffee

    by sw2-uk on 2019-01-17 06:03 am

This review is based on a pre-booked table for breakfast, for two.

We booked Christmas Day breakfast at The Waldorf with high expectations. It's The Waldorf, after all. Sadly, our experience wasn't quite as joy-sparking as we would have liked, nor glamorous, nor altogether tasty. Pancakes were good, coffee was terrible. Our waitress was chatty and lovely, but she wasn't the fastest waitress in the West. In fact, we were sat for at least 10-15 minutes before we had to grab the guy looking after the omelette area, who passed on the fact that we were waiting to be served at The Waldorf ... for breakfast ... on Christmas Day.

So, despite it not being particularly glamorous, and despite the fact that it wasn't even very festive, we enjoyed our reasonably priced breakfast (except the disastrous coffee) and went looking for a Starbucks afterwards.

  • 50th Birthday theatre break

    by Lynda9999 on 2019-01-16 10:39 am

What a fantastic weekend to celebrate my 50th birthday. Executive room was wonderful - gorgeous bathroom, very comfortable bed and separate sofa and tv room. Access to executive lounge serving complementary breakfast, afternoon teas and evening canap?s with wine and spirits. Hotel ideally sandwiched between Novello and Aldwych Theatres. We saw Mama Mia. Great seats to watch a brilliant show. Wonderful weekend and hope to repeat very soon

  • Excellent stay

by chiterchatter on 2019-01-16 10:02 am

Stayed for one night as we were going to see s show at the Savoy theatre (short walking distance). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of their executive rooms with access to the executive lounge with ample food and drink on offer throughout the day. Staff very friendly and heloful. Also walking distance to Covent Garden and about 15mins to Waterloo station. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Excellent Hotel stay at London's Waldorf

    by JSewe11 on 2019-01-14 05:40 am

My wife and I just finished an excellent stay at London's Waldorf Hilton Hotel, on the weekend.

As we had booked a West End show, the Waldorf was an ovbious and perfect choice, given that its located within short walking distance of the West End theatres and Covent Garden.

We called ahead of our booking and spoke to Helena, at reception, who we we're fortunate enough to meet on arrival. Helena took great care of all our accommodation requirements, ensuring that we had a suitable room, whilst Areem parked our car and Anton, the concierge transported our luggage directly to our suite. A very smooth checking in operation.

Our room was perfect, spacious, yet cosy, clean, with a very comfortable king bed. The en-suite shower and bathroom, was large, with Robes, slippers and a TV above the bath.

After our theatre show we spent a lot of time in the executive lounge, which happens to be amongst our favourite lounges in London. Costanza, Chris, Bogumil and Janet, we're always at hand, providing a quality selection of food, drink and a first class level of customer care.

At breakfast, we we're in the capable hands of Antonelli and Luci, who also helped us with our Italian lessons. The dining room is spectacular, with a vast breakfast selection to suite our varied dietary requirements.

The hotel has a gym and swimming pool, in the basement. The gym features all the key equipment, for a good workout, which was necessary after all the amazing food that we consumed, during our stay.

I had a few queries, throughout our stay, where Julia, the guest relation manager, was benevolent enough to share her time and go the extra mile, to ensure that we we're not short of anything, that would impact our enjoyment.

With such amazing staff, a high standard of service and quality food, we're already planning our next theatre stay.

Thank you to all the Waldorf London team.
