  • Great atmosphere and details.

by Hedin on 2019-10-25 11:06 am

PROs: a place with a soul: an old house and a little tower next to it; kind personell; fine breakfast; 2 bars, terraces, a courtyard and elegantly furnitured living rooms, all interconnected; bycicles to wander around; nice room and bathroom; inspiring furniture and colors.
CONs: the wish to have a seating are in my room forced the selection of a very short bed. The lead-glass walls are in some spots a bit aged.
Conclusions: this is a place that makes you want to spend time at different time of the day and evening in its elegant common areas. It's well done, well run, human sized and yet at good standards.

  • Relaxing stay with everything I needed

    by z302 on 2019-10-23 09:49 pm

Great amenities: Good breakfast selection and bar selection that was open late. Delicious drinks at the upstairs bar, relaxing and mellow to sit by the pool (midweek visit). Had a lovely massage. Appreciated the good minibar! Only downside was the minimal gym but at least there was something.

Conveniently located. Helpful and friendly staff - especially the concierge that had some good recommendations. Comfortable room, comfortable bed.

Will definitely be back next time I'm in Guadalajara!

  • Not worth it

by mamabearam on 2019-10-13 08:22 am

We arrived at Casa Habita on a Friday and at first we were content with the hotel. It's a small hotel going for the vintage vibe but I feel like the vintage began to just look old. The location is great with tons of cute restaurants and stores with in walking distance. They have a great pool area with a bar and lots of great seating, however it was difficult to find a bartender and my husband had to go downstairs several times to order drinks. The pool was nice but small. I would not recommend it for kids. They had a Great Wall seat in the pool but unfortunately you could not use it with the over grown plants. There was also only one filter working and the water looked cloudy. The rooms are adequate, again the vintage style just began to look a little old. There is no carpet so make sure you bring house shoes. They do provide flip flops but they are one size fits all. There is a tv with cable and a few channels in English. The bathroom could use some work. Essentially the bathroom is just one big open area with only a door to close the whole room off. The shower was a little corner in the room with no door or curtain. The sink was a small pedestal sink with no area to store your own bathroom essentials. They do have a little cart but it's full of other stuff from the hotel. There are also no towel hangers at the sink or in the shower. They did have a safe in the room which was great. The bed was really comfortable but the pillows were a little hard. The worst part of our stay and why we will never visit this hotel again is after 11pm we heard loud pounding music that continued until 4 am! The music was very disruptive to our sleep. We didn't say anything the first night because we were thinking the hotel was holding a even but we were wrong. The second night at 11pm the same loud pounding music started and that night continued until 5am! When I called down to the front desk the second night to ask what was going on the girl told me there was a night club behind the hotel that I was hearing and nothing they could do about the noise. Thankfully I wasn't traveling with kids or I would have packed up and left. Overall I loved the location and I think the hotel could be great if they work out those issues, but for now I think it's overpriced and I would not recommend it.

    Dear Mamabearam,
Thank you for your review of Casa Habita. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed most of our style and amenities and the staff was able to make it even better. I get the whole idea of your complain, yes maybe some areas can be more into oldness and not just vintage at we will certainly take a look on it. But I presume the BIG issue was the club, belive me when I say these. It`s been a great trouble for all the neighboors, and belive again that club would not see the 2020, sorry for that inconvenient. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to Guadalajara at notice that we do take care of all these coments pretty serious.

  • Boutique and quiet part of town

by zxypoo on 2019-09-15 10:42 am

I had a quick business trip to Guadalajara and chose this Bonvoy hotel over the other soulless options like Aloft. It's in a quiet part of town and there aren't too many hotel rooms. The downside is the walls are thin so if you have neighbors enjoying the primal aspects of life, it will be heard. There are also some great restaurants nearby in walking distance, highly recommend a place called "Hueso" for high end hipster dining.

  • A wonderful Hotel

by TheColorGuy on 2019-08-31 07:04 am

Fresh, light, clean and comfortable. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful making you really glad you were staying with them. Beyond that everyone was very conversant in english which made things easy. The rooms were great. The location is perfect, on a tree lined street in the Fayette neighborhood walking distance to restaurants and historic buildings. I find most hotel restaurants to be less than special but this one was excellent. I would highly recommend it. One note however, they have music events in the evenings. They only last until about 11pm but if you go to bed early or like it very quiet ask for a room on the backside of the building.
