  • Amazing hotel

    by Happiness582416 on 2019-03-06 09:46 am

My mother took me to M?rida for my birthday and it was made even more special by the staff and ambiance at Casa Lecanda. The atmosphere is calming and feels like an oasis. You are treated like family when you arrive and everyone knows you by name. The rooms are clean and have all the desired amenities. It's in a great location and the sister restaurant, Oliva, was the icing on top of the cake- I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend my birthday.

  • Lovely Colonial Hotel

by vanholt on 2019-03-01 09:50 am

Though expensive for the area, this casa is the place to visit in Merida. Lovely colonial architecture, superb service and comfortable rooms in walking distance of downtown but close enough to the airport. The only thing that could improve is the staff's knowledge and recommendations of sites in the area and its tracking of guest charges.

  • Boutique hotel in middle of this growing town

by Cornakey on 2019-02-18 05:07 am

From outside this hotel has no character but once inside what a wonderful quiet location set in this very busy town. The hotel has a fairly small pool and fairly limited sitting space next to it but is very peaceful. It has no food available except for breakfast which was good. The room we had , ana, had a plungepool within the room but it would have taken a day to fill it - it was so large. There were several restaurant close by for any evening meal requirements.

Thank you very much for your comments. We are glad to know you enjoyed our breakfast and our homemade bread and jams. As the hotel was born from a restored house, the main objective was to preserve the original architecture which is why the patios, pool area and some of the rooms maintain its original size. We are sorry you didn?t get a chance to enjoy one of private lunches or dinners (previous reservation) where a private chef comes to the hotel and designs a menu based on our guests preferences but we are happy to know you were able to try out some of the restaurants nearby. If we have a chance to welcome you in the future, we would love you to try the bathtub in the garden suites. We usually fill it (per request) for turndown service and we only need about a 15 min window to get it all ready. We hope you had a wonderful stay in our beautiful city and we hope we are able to welcome you again in the future.

  • Magical and relaxing stay

    by mariu40 on 2019-02-17 06:29 am

The service was superb, we felt welcome and check-in was very easy. Loved the smell of the perfumes Coqui Coqui that they have as you enter the hotel, we even went to the shop to buy some of the delicious natural perfumes. We were worried about parking, but they have a near by parking with free valet service. Loved the decoration and style of the hotel, exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the Lucia room, which is very quiet and private. Our welcome drink the tamarind margarita was very nice, we also enjoyed the conversation and stories that one of the staff member shared with us about the local folklore. They were more than willing to give us their recommendations about, things to do, restaurants and shops. Breakfast was amazing with delicious coffee and a good assortment of local inspired choices, the continental breakfast with delicious fruits was part of our room rate.
My only small comment is that the bathroom lacks privacy because is semi-open to the room, however the shower is very large and beautiful. The bathroom has all the necessary amenities. A recommendation to the hotel is to provide available drinking water to refill water bottles and reduce the amount of water plastic bottles.A hotel of this quality should provide this service and reduce the plastic impact.

  • Wonderful hotel in a charming city

    by MarkBethel_Ohio on 2019-02-12 10:59 am

The location was wonderful, just 2 blocks from the Paseo Montejo, a perfect place for strolling before and after dinner. It is also very convenient to the Museum of Anthropology and History; the current winter/2019 exhibit there is wonderful. The breakfasts were a delight at this hotel. It is also steps to several blocks from a number o good restaurants.
