  • The most luxurious hotel. Absolute perfection.

    by jyp-london on 2019-05-19 11:06 am

We have stayed in A LOT of boutique 4/5 star hotels all around the world and this has to be top of the list!! It's one of those places that are so nice, you don't want to leave the property, and out of our 3 nights in M?rida, we ended up staying in most of the time as it was too luxurious to leave! With only 7 rooms, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves most of the time. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and super clean. The bed linen, towels, toiletries etc are very luxurious. The breakfast was the best we had in Mexico. We got addicted to the tamarind margaritas you get as a welcome drink. The staff treat you like royalty and go out of their way to help you with anything. There is absolutely no negative about this place. It was the most amazing 4 days and worth going back to Mexico just to stay here again! Next time for longer! Thank you to all the staff.

  • Lots to like if you are fit

We liked our room here. Giant room with the bathroom and bedroom essentially one large room with a gigantic wardrobe divider. Huge shower (room for six!). Friendly and VERY helpful staff. Limited but lovely breakfast. Killer wifi that never faltered.

A few downsides. There are, we were told, seven rooms. Ours was on a second floor walkup that was a bit steep and open-aired.But it came with it's own balcony. The interior of the hacienda was mostly covered, but it was not totally level (a few steps here and there). We had no trouble navigating it all, but some would. If it matters, make sure you are on the ground floor.

No restaurant, but Oliva just a few steps away (across the street and another road) is a dead five star eatery.

In the end, we decided that Casa Lecanda was well worth five stars.

Thank you very much for all your comments. We are glad to know you enjoyed your stay and special thanks for the 5 stars. We are sorry to know you didn?t get a chance to try anything from our menu as we have items such as a our popular avocado toast up to omelets and pan cakes. Regarding the distribution of the house, the architecture was preserved as it was originally so it would be one of the highlights of the experience. We hope you get a chance to try our private lunches and dinners next time you visit us but definitely Oliva is the best option if you feel like going out. We?ll make a note and next time you are planning on visiting Merida, just give us a call and well make sure we help you plan a new adventure! See you soon!

  • Perfection at every level

    by Léa P on 2019-04-30 02:09 am

Great location in Merida's best area. The architecture is beautiful, the rooms are huge and amazing, the outdoors are great. The breakfast with homemade bread is delicious. We stayed 2 nights wished we stayed longer. Coqui Coqui scent at the entrance is dreamy! Turndown service is such a lovely touch. Best price for this amazing service, for an authentic discovery of Merida. So accomodating for check-out. Lovely common bathroom is a must!
Tip: favorite restaurant in Merida 50m away, Te Extrano Extrano.
Only negative: it had a lot of mosquitos and needs to be treated asap!

  • Peaceful place to stay.

by ShadeUK on 2019-04-03 02:38 am

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Lecanda in Merida. It is a peaceful place in a bustling city. There is a lovely swimming pool in a beautiful courtyard. We enjoyed having a wonderful breakfast beside the pool every morning. Our room was spacious with a huge bed, and was very comfortable. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but we had no bother getting a reservation for Oliva which is also owned by the hotel and is just across the road. The hotel is in a very convenient area with plenty restaurants within walking distance. Our stay was too short.

Thank you for having stayed with us. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay with us and that we were able to make your stay memorable. It is always a pleasure to welcome our guests to help them enjoy and discover the city but most importantly, to make sure they feel at home during their stay so that they only have to worry about which adventure is next. We hope we can welcome you again in the future.

  • Muy Mal!!

    by julienB505 on 2019-03-31 09:28 am

We live 6 month a year in Merida, casa Lecanda is the place we go every sunday almost, every time our friend and familly are visiting from Europe we take them there, but this time we booked a breakfast oustide for 4 and when we arrived they wanted to give us a table inside, the lady waitress or manager was super unwelcoming and rude, she said we gad no choice as they keep the outside space for the guest of the hotel, I insisted that I am a regular and that it was 10.45am, the place was completely empty, and it didnt make sense to keep a place empty, she refused to hear us, then we decided to go, she prefered to make the company loose 4 regular customers, I think that the casa lecanda own by the same familly as oliva as become too big, service is going down, this is the price to pay when you become big and dont give attention to the customer who used to come everytime and make you what you ve became now,by supporting your business. Photo of the empty space at 10.45 sunday morning! Thank you but Merida is growing and luckily is offering plenty of new places.

    Dear Patron,

Thank you for your message. We truly value your feedback, as we take all aspects of our businesses very seriously.

We are sorry to hear about the unfortunate event that took place on your visit. Our customers, especially our regulars, both at Casa Lecanda and Oliva are continually greeted on a name basis and treated with the utmost care and respect. It is of utmost importance to us to create an unforgettable experience for our clients, by striving to provide impecable service practices.

Our Breakfast Patio is for all of our guests to enjoy. We usually give our in-house Casa Lecanda guests a preference of the outside tables, but also offer our air-conditioned dining room with garden views in case the climate isn't friendly. We consider both to be equally luxurious experiences, but completely understand if you preferred to dine outside. We do make exceptions, and in no way intended to make you feel like you did not have a choice (especially when the patio seemed empty.) Sometimes, unfortunately, some employees have a hard time distinguishing when to make them, only with the intention of avoiding conflict with our in-house guests. However, we welcome all outside clients to come and experience our Casa Lecanda breakfasts, and will make sure this situation does not repeat itself. If you could kindly email our General Manager Monica Pacho (mp@casalecanda.com ), we would be happy to make up for the negative experience.

    Best,

    Casa Lecanda Management.
