  • Eclectic

This isn't your standard Hilton hotel. It's an eclectic hotel with many unique features. Plenty of cool sitting areas. Highly regarded restaurant on site and nice bar on the second level. However, the rooms are tiny. We had a room with a king bed and barely had any room to move around. We stayed here after two nights at another hotel and preferred the other hotel (Fairmont) due to its proximity to PNC Park. This hotel felt a bit removed from the action. Also, the area is a bit sketchy (there's an adult book store down the street). The hotel offers valet parking for about $30 a night but there's a parking garage right next door that is a lot cheaper ($10 for one night). The hotel offers free bikes and has a nice roof top sitting area. Fitness center is above average.

  • Excellent hotel with an amazing staff in a great location

I loved this hotel. The front desk staff was great, they were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was had great amenities (bar, restaurant and a decent gym). The rooms were very comfortable and clean. It is in a great location in downtown Pittsburgh and is walking distance of many restaurants and interesting locations. Plus they offer bicycles if you want to explore further

  • Overnight Stay to attend the Who concert at PPG Paints Arena

Great restaurant and bar, ask for Siri at the Whale and she will take great care of you. The Front Desk and Valet Staff were top notch and friendly. The rooms were well decorated and very clean. The historic building has much charm, stay here next time you visit Pittsburgh. The Arena is within walking distance which is a plus.

  • Bring Ear Plugs & Hopefully you don't drive a manual...

    by 767danielled on 2019-06-02 08:14 am

To start it off we pulled up and the first thing we encountered was the valet guys looking at my husband saying "oh its a stick, no one here can drive that, we hope you weren't planning on parking here" If you are working at a hotel in a major city it should be a requirment that you should know how to drive a manual transmission! So, than they tell us well you can leave it right here but you will still be charged the $35 for the valet parking; so wait, you can't drive our car to park it, we have to park it ourselves and yet we are still being charged this to park it? Unbelievable!!!!
Go inside to check in, that was a breeze until I bring that up with the front desk, the gentleman checking us in could care less, his response wasm " theres a parking deck next to the hotel you can go to for $20" guess what that's where my husband took the car, which ended up being $10 for the night; mind you there are no in and out but still a lot better than the $35 the hotel was attempting to charge us for absolutely no reason!
Once we get into the room, it was smallest hotel room than I have ever been in, I honestly couldn't believe that they were charging over $400 a night for it, luckily I got a deal through my work at half that price, because even at that cost the room and the service weren't worth it. The view from the room was of a "zombie holding cell" which was no view it was honestly a square of bricks they could at least do something with that area to make it more appealing to guests!
Next comes sleeping... I am an extremely heavy sleeper, so much so my husnand says he can set off a bomb next to my head nd it wouldn't wake me up. Every time that the ac would get ready to turn on it would beep 3 times as if it was a warning that it was coming on. There was absolutely no way to turn this off. SO, there was no sleep at all the entire night!
Honestly, this was the worst thst we have ever been in as far as a hotel in any city and we will not be back! And if you were too look back at any of my reviews you will see that I am not one to complain, but this stuff is nothing that can be over looked!

Very sorry to hear of your experience with us. If you could contact me directly at mdeintinis@distrikthotel.com; so we can talk in more detail, and arrange some sort of remedy, I think that would be best. Thank you.

  • New, comfortable but with "city sized" rooms

by CMKNY on 2019-05-30 07:00 pm

This is a new and trendy Hilton in downtown Pittsburgh. It's clean, cool and nicely appointed but the rooms are tight. Front desk team is always very nice, welcoming, helpful (I've stayed here a few times). On the other hand, don't look for much from valet parking/ doormen. In fact, you're better off parking your own car; the public lot is right next door.

More of the pluses: comfortable beds and very clean rooms. The lobby is really interesting and there's plenty of room and always reading material. The bar/ pub menu on the mezzanine floor is really comfortable too and the service is good.

If they can get the rest of the service crew (parking, doormen) up to par, this place will be top notch.
