  • Worst experience ever

    by Sunshine74296 on 2019-08-23 07:47 am

Prebooked this hotel months before our arrival. My husband and I checked in hotel and that night we were awoken at 3AM with drilling in the street and trucks going in and out of a garage and revving of engines. Needless to say we did not sleep at all. The air-conditioner was so loud we had to turn it off and the pillows were lumpy and so hard they were impossible to use. The room faced a parking garage on one side and a tall building on the other side. The windows are single pane windows so you can hear everything. The next morning we complained to the girl at the desk. She apologized but said she could not accommodate any refund due to the fact that WE PAID IN ADVANCE. What does that mean? Absurd... They offered free breakfast, but I have allergies and can't eat much so that didn't help me. The worst experience and I would never return here even if they gave it to me for free.

Appreciate your thoughts, and do want to apologize for the experience. As you detailed, the hotel is surrounded by office buildings which have a 24/7 work-process attached. We certainly apologize for the interruptions that night. The 'prepaid/paid in advance' nature of some reservations today does restrict what the hotel can do in the way of adjustments or remedy; but I'm sure we can work around those and provide a good solution.

If you can contact me directly at mdeintinis@distrikthotel.com, we can discuss details further.

We will continue to strive to improve in those areas mentioned, and ensure our guest experience is better each time.

  • Very poorly operated.

    by Lawrence D on 2019-08-22 03:34 pm

Blood on the comforter. Yep, there was dried blood on the all white comforter. Since all of the bedding is white this was hard to miss. It was late so we just removed the comforter and reported it to desk in the morning. They apologized and promised to change the comforter. Came back next night to same bloody comforter. This time I was not happy. Desk clerk apologized again promised to change again. Left for a few drinks while they serviced the problem. Came back an hour later to an unmade bed, sheets not tucked in, new comforter! Pulled back comforter and found no bottom sheet on bed, only exposed mattress cover! Looked at comforter and found dried blood again. Ripped comforter off of bed and called desk. Again apologies from clerk. New sheets put on bed. This time no blood. Hooray! Oops...pulled sheets back to get in bed only to find holes in bottom sheet right where your upper body would lay, exposing bare mattress through holes! We were there for seven nights and never heard from management. Parking was $35 additional per night. Parking service was terrible. No fault of the hardworking parking attendants, it's just that the configuration of the Valet parking stand and the parking lot is very inefficient.

Floors in hallways uneven and tripping was constant. Each day there were dirty sheets and water bottle cases left in the hallway by housekeeping.

Hilton Hotels has noticeably slipped over the years, but this place is a disgrace even at the Motel6 standards that seem to be in place here.

Shame on management for not attempting to contact us. Bloody sheets should warrant an apology directly from the Genersl Manager at a minimum.

There are much better options than this place. Try anything, even Motel 6 before booking here.

Management is ineffective on this property and it is evident throughout the property.

We wont be back and this is the last time we book any Hilton brands. Hyatt will be our lodging of choice from now on.

  • Pittsburgh is a great city!

    by Janine E on 2019-08-20 12:54 am

I had not been back to my hometown in many years and spent a long weekend exploring, eating, and enjoying a Steelers game! Such fun, and I would definitely recommend The Distrikt Hotel as a base. As with most new boutique/Euro style hotels, the rooms are compact but the area is creatively designed to maximize the space. The bed was AMAZING! The personnel at this hotel is wonderful and the location is fantastic. The subway (free within the downtown area) was just steps away (stops in front of both PNC Field and Heinz Field) and a short walk in the opposite directions took us to the Monongahela Incline, The Strip District, and the Cultural District, just to name a few. I fell in love with the city of my birth all over again! Go visit 'the Burgh' . . . you will be glad you did!

Great Hotel in a so so Neighborhood. Great staff, easy to get on and off the highway and convenient to The Stadium. Not a lot of dining options close by and the homeless problem in Pittsburgh is severe. Walking around at night is not an option. This is true for all the downtown hotels. But, if Pittsburgh is where you have to be, This is a good choice
