  • Overnight & spa break with my hubby

    I was excited to try out this hotel but sadly it did not live up to my expectations, the staff however were very friendly - bar staff, reception and the restaurant staff, they couldn't do enough, even the staff in the leisure/spa centre were warm and friendly so thank you Hilton keep up the good work. My only gripe is that this hotel is meant to be a 4 star? My room was very dark and dated. We had bathrobes and slippers but no toiletries ie shower gel, shower cap, face cloth, vanity mirror etc it's all the little touches that make a 4 star and this failed drastically. We had no welcome booklet or tourist information in our room to help us with WiFi details or checkout information. I had to google to find out what time we had to check out at on our departure. The bed and pillows were very friendly but I could hear the gentleman through the wall talking and snoring like he was sitting next to me. I'm sorry to say, that I will not be returning to dunblane hydro which is a shame as I thoroughly enjoyed my spa experience - thanks Natalie

  • Good hotel

    1 night stay room clean and comfortable. Their spa has a great pool. Breakfast was good. A lot of choice Did not dine in the evening. A bit of a walk into town but nice if the weather is good. We have stayed there 4 times. A beautiful building

  • DoubleTree Done Good....

    Had a lovely overnight stay in April at the DoubleTree Dunblane Hydro . They were very busy with two weddings during our stay but this did not detract from our experience or the service we received. The staff were all lovely and the room everything that's needed...would not hesitate to recommend and hope to be back soon. The cookies by the way were fab we saved them and had them at the top of Ben Vorlich the next day.

  • Great deal great stay

    Got a great deal on dbb, used my Hilton account so was able to choose room so worked well. Had lovely front view, which is splendid. Great outlook, good facilities, great food, friendly staff and overall brilliant stay.

  • First impressions are important.

    We have stayed at this hotel several times, over many years, going back to when it was owned by Stakis. Driving up to the hotel, the building is very impressive, however when we reached reception the impressions were not impressive. We arrived after 1pm. At reception we were told, abruptly, that check in time was 4 pm and that we should come back later. No suggestion of going for lunch in the hotel , or a drink in the bar, or use the spa, just "come back later". I asked if we could be texted when room was ready but no text received. We had a wonderful lunch in Dunblane town and returned to the hotel just before four. While checking in, I asked if they could check what time I had booked dinner. Another receptionist interrupted to say that thes details were on a different computer system and that I should call the restaurant myself! Now, that's fine, but they could have called for me. Rather than feeling welcome, reception made us feel nuisances.

    We dined in the Kailyard restaurant which was fine and the staff there were very attentive as were the staff at breakfast. We had afternoon tea the following day and again the staff were very helpful.

    In summary, the hotel is OK but let down by lack of customer care at reception.
