  • Atrocious Customer Service

    I have received the worst customer service from Dunblane Hydro in my entire life. I had a spa day booked for myself and partner on the Sunday 29th March. I phoned up in early January and was told this was booked for me and have been looking forward to it the last few months.

    I received a voicemail yesterday saying that there was no longer availability that day and to phone back as soon as possible. I phoned up as soon as I finished work being transferred from department to department only to find out the person dealing with it only works 10-4 and to phone back tomorrow. So today I gave up time on my lunch break to phone up.

    I spoke to a woman on the phone. I gave her my name and date I had booked. She then went onto proceed how indeed there was no availability that day and if I would like to book another day. I was confused at this and asked her how can there be no availability if I already had it booked. She then went onto to tell me how in fact I had not had it booked and there was only a "note of interest" for that day. I was outraged at this. The man months before told me it was booked for that day, he mentioned nothing about a "note of interest". Trying to find a solution to the problem, I asked what other days she had available. She then said a Monday. This is no use to me or my partner as we both work Monday to Friday. So I asked if she had any weekends free and the whole of March and April there were no weekends free.

    This is absolutely appalling customer service. I am not happy how I am being treated. I was looking forward to this day only to be told a week before that it wasn't booked afterall. Ridiculous.

    I have done nothing wrong. The man on the phone told me it was booked, it's not my fault if he was supposed to just say it was a "note of interest". It's not my fault, there are now no weekends free, I had this booked months ago. And it's not my fault how truly awful the customer service is I have received.

  • Two nights for birthday

    Went for two nights over my birthday, had a lovely time with my boyfriend. Booked two nights with dinner and breakfast included, the dinner and breakfast were very nice and filling. Had a lovely view and were lucky with the weather over the two days. Will be back some day :)

  • A bit of tlc

    On a voucher deal we were upgraded to a premier room. Stayed last year at same time and found a few things disappointing. Room was clean but needed a bit of tlc. Carpet was badly stained in several places, furniture scratched, skirting boards marked. Bed linen and towels nice and clean. Only 4 sachets of coffee and 3?milk. No info in room apart from menu and treatments. Pool area again needing a bit of uplift on painting, window cleaning. But otherwise pool area and changing rooms clean. Swimwear drier no longer available.
    Dinner was lovely. Loved the breakfast so much last year, that we raved about it to everyone. Still good but a few items to pick on (and it is petty). Couldn't find smoothies (as last year), jam, honey etc no longer in small jars, but plastic tubes. Thought we were trying to reduce plastic? In the present crisis, hand sanitizers widely available at entrance to restaurant and around food areas. Lift to room should maybe have restriction notice of a maximum of 2 or size of party.
    3 times other people got on when we were in the lift. It could avoid awkward conversations (asking them to get off..social distancing). Staff were as usual friendly and helpful. Hoping to return next month on another deal and would like to see some issues being dealt with.

  • Awards night

    Stayed here with friends for an awards night . All in all a nice place . Service on this business night was fairly quick and efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean , tidy and decent size . Very comfortable bed . Only issue was a shower that leaked and didn't work . Very small bath . I forgot to notify hotel tho. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of options .

  • Another nice stay

    Stayed here again last week for 2 nights on an itison deal...an absolute bargain for DBB...the room was lovely..nice view,drinks in the bar were nice(no edin mill gin though),the only disappointment was there was only 1 menu...we have stayed a few times and there has always been 2 menus rotated,this is also still stated as being the case on the website....in saying that the food i had on the two nights was nice but the vegetarian options my wife had were lacking in taste and the falafel burger was quite dry..this on the other hand would not stop us from staying again,breakfast was as per usual lovely...I just hope the woman walking around thhe restaurant in her bare feet finds her shoes soon!!!!!
