  • Beautiful! In the centre of it all

    What a treat! Couldn't get closer to the parliament building, all the winterlude activities and great restaurants. Just a block from the mall that has everything you could possibly want including a grocery market called Farmboy! It had great fresh foods and cooked takeaway meals. All the staff at the hotel were super helpful.

    Big, iconic landmark hotel. It's good value and they do a good job keeping this hotel in excellent condition. It exudes classic luxury. Room was great, pool was great, breakfast was great.

    My wife and I have stayed at the Laurier each February for the last 3 years.
    Winterlude and Valentines rolled into one!
    Last year we discovered the gold service.

    It is with out doubt something everyone should experience at least once in their lives.

    From the moment of check in, the staff cannot do enough to please and assist in your stay.
    The waiters in the dining room, smartly attired in a uniform they take genuine pride in. Table service that is fast, attentive and gives one a real sense of how things were back in the day.

    As mentioned, we had the gold service which gave access to the 4th floor lounge.
    One word..... Magnificent

    The food is delicious, the breakfast is sumptuous, some were using it to 'grab and go', we were here to relax, and once the staff saw that, we were made to feel like royalty.

    Delicious food, and plenty of variety of drinks both hot and cold.
    Afternoon cream tea
    Canap?s that we're both fun, tasty and filling.

    Followed by deserts later in the evening

    Having traveled to many countries and experienced what others call 'luxury' I strongly urge to to seek out what Canada has to offer and what is exemplified by both the staff and the hotel as a whole at the Chateau Laurier.

    My thanks to you all for yet again a wonderful stay.

  • Nice comfy place to spend a cold winter night

    My experience at the hotel was pleasant from beginning to end. I got to the hotel without reservation--flight was cancelled so had to overnight in Ottawa. I got a Fairmont Room (a basic room). What I got was a really comfy king sized bed with fluffy pillows, bathrobes to use, view looking east. Place appeared clean and spacious. WIFI was free with room. Concierge service is top notch--as one would expect from a hotel of this level. I was not prepared to overnight so had only boots to wear. Slippers were not in the room but the concierge provided me with a pair when I asked. The Fairmont branded rose soaps and amenities are of a good quality. All in all, the hotel really made my unexpected layover in Ottawa a pleasant experience.

  • Fabulous Hotel

    This Hotel is absolutely amazing! The history alone is enough to make the trip.
    Bets for super comfortable but What else do you expect from Fairmount beds?
    The only two disappointments where that the pool was cold, and it took more than 24 hours for room service to remove the old dishes from the hallway. Other than those two things this hotel is well worth every penny spent.
