Hotel Museum
With over 200 years of history, Fru Haugans Hotel has collected a variety of objects that have been used during its daily operations that have become outdated but remain historically valuable. Knowing the value, Ellen Haugans and family began storing and preserving items in one of the many attics, originally the room of trader Erik Sjursen in 1794, from the original building. Over decades, the attic slowly became a storage house, soon amassing an impressive collection of vintage and antique pieces. After much thought, in 2002, the attic was open to guests and visitors as a museum to exhibit the stored artifacts. During the full-property renovation in early 2000s, the small single-room museum was expanded to included five themed rooms, including restored old pantry and bathrooms.
