Blissful
Solo female traveler spent five wonderful nights here.
PROS
- Booked five nights for only 140,000 Bonvoy points
- I was initially disappointed that I wasn't upgraded (Titanium), but I ended up loving the casita. I was super-happy with this style of accommodation
- Easy parking
- Very peaceful. The property in the middle of the jungle, and the sounds are wonderful: the breeze through the trees, bird calls, insect chirps
- The temperatures were in the 90's off the property, but the property grounds always felt about 80 degrees -- there's lots of shade
- Beautiful grounds. Two-kilometer driveway made for a nice daily walk. Remains of old buildings are charming. Gigantic old trees. Large pool. Everything well maintained
- Wildlife galore: frogs (one was in my bathroom, which was fine with me -- they eat bugs), iguanas, raccoon/weasel--like things with a striped tail, butterflies, all types of birds
- Casitas are wonderful. Huge. Lots of windows with screens. Felt safe. Quiet. Dark at night. Always stayed about 70 degrees indoors. Very high, thatched-roof ceilings. Outdoor hot tub. Patio with hammock (I'm lying in it). Elevated beds that sway. Luxury Collection linens (and substantial pillows). Mini-fridge that I couldn't hear (a first), open shower. Fresh flowers
- Excellent service: housekeeping, reception, restaurant (Andres took good care of me in the morning
- WiFi in casitas, deck, restaurant. Cellphone service (Telcel) -- but not a lot of bars
- Good food in the restaurant. Breakast included with points stay. Amenities left in room at night. Mini-bar
- My laundry was returned in a few hours
CONS
- Can be tricky to locate
- There was a giant spider in my bathroom one day. It didn't bother me much, though, as the space is huge, it's far from the bedroom, and the beds are elevated
- Can hear the generators of neighboring casitas if they run the AC (one night of five) -
Atmospheric and luxurious
This is a fantastic place in the middle of nowhere. The old Hacienda and sisal factory have been tastefully restored to make a beautiful luxurious hideaway. You need a car to get there or to get anywhere interesting from there but we went as the final instalment of a busy trip and it was the perfect restful retreat. The food was good and the service impeccable. Our room - a junior suite - was spacious and bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The pool is huge. On request you can do a guided bird watching wander around the extensive grounds.

A hidden jewel
Wow!!!! What a great location. Hidden in the deep forests, this beautifully restaurateur Hotel really overwhelmed me.
The rooms were extraordinary, the service flawless and the nature impressive
I felt at home in an instance and really liked the staff.
They gave me a quick cooking lesson so I can show something at home ? -
Nice and quiet
Beautiful pool, good food and wonderful service.
The luxury is not stainless steel and glass, but more of a colonial Mexican feel. look at the pictures in the librar, you'll understand the transition to a hotel that had occurred with this old sisal plantation/factory, -
Stay there and forget about the world outside
This ex-hacienda is located in the middle of nature, abt 30 km away from M?rida, Yucatan.
The place is quite spectacular and was beautifully restored. In the library, aside the chapel, there are photos of the former state of the place, and the restauration is breathtaking.
We were there at the end of May, and there were very few clients, so the place was extremely quiet.
Our "casita" reproduced a mayan house, but with plenty of room, air-conditioning, and a hanging bed (that was a first for us). A corridor joined the room to another casita including bathroom and closet. Outside, a small sitting pond could be filled and lit with candles, on-demand.
Spectacular swimming pool.
The staff were all very kind.
Prices are on the high side, but the place is worth every peso.
It was really a marvellous 2-day stay.
In our opinion two things could be improved:
- The wifi in the room was terrible, pratically useless.
- The restaurant is not bad but not at the level of the place.
