    Love staying at an Hilton hotel. The place was very quiet and loved the out door pool and the water was nice. The restaurant was closed And I understand. I found a local restaurant that was so good. Lloyds restaurant was the best.

  • Hotel in disrepair.

    The hotel was beautiful on the outside and in the lobby, but everywhere else it was not especially the room. We said we had four people and would need two beds. We got the 2 beds, but the room was the size of a single bed room. We barely had room for our luggage. The bathroom was moldy, paint was bubbled, metal was rusty, and the windows were so fogged that you could not see outside to take in the beautiful city at night. Room service was terrible in that they could not even cook three burgers correctly. So over cooked that they were like hockey pucks. Bad experience

  • Birthday fail

    I live 5min from the Hilton. Came here for my birthday because I thought it was the best hotel in town.
    We called the hotel for a reservation.
    Did not get the hotel got a call center in India or someplace.
    The guy gave me an incorrect confirmation number and room price, ok. This is why you book online. I know this, but my wife like to call in she used to work the front desk at a New Orleans hotel.
    It ended up being $185 instead of $155. Any was not a river view as we were told on the phone.
    They would not give us the lower rate.
    We did not argue, my wife only asked if there was anything the could do because it was my birthday?
    Monet Courville acted like she did not understand us, like we were speaking a foreign language. Making us feel like beggars.
    She says I don't no what you mean? I don't have any cheaper rooms... My wife asked if they can give a fruit basket or a gift for my birthday.
    " I don't know what you mean?" Really she flat out asked if they could give us some fruit. Monet was acting like she didn't know the front desk was able to change a reservation or give up a couple of of free drinks or a couple of pieces of fruit.
    Asked if they had a phone charger also, acted like we were idiots for asking. They have 0 USB ports in the room. They have LAN, so if you have dialup or a DSL laptop you're good...
    And the breakfast is crap. The usual comfort suites liquid canned toxic bright yellow cafeteria eggs. For $37
    Also please clean your toilet. Room is clean toilet not.

  • Dirty Bathrooms with no hot water

    This is a historic hotel so please expect smaller rooms but that is no excuse for uncleanness or lack of maintenance. Most of the staff was great but the front desk I would imagine hear many complaints and just do not seem to care. The first room I was given had mold/mildew in the bathroom and no hot water. The next room was slighter cleaner but was poorly maintained. 5 of the 9 window panes had broken seals, the light was replaced and not even painted around and just in poor condition. This is not the Hinton type of property I have come to expect.

    Always great service and care. I keep coming back to this hotel because of the wonderful southern hospitality that is so often absent from other places. Reminds me of being at my grandmother's where I never wanted to leave. Special shout out to valet Henry who always seems to be at my car waiting with the keys and door open when I am leaving in the morning or at my car door to open it when I arrive. He is a great young man and they are lucky to have him. Of course there is Herb, an amazing bellman and shuttle driver. Warm and friendly and great to be around. Takes extra special care of me. Like being around a lifelong friend. So many others to also thank for amazing service. Tori, Adrienne, Sonja, super kuddos to the entire executive lounge crew who save me every night when I work past "curfew", security crew who help out with so many other things, Clay's Nephew, room service crew, restaurant staff, and so many that I want to name, but out of space. Just know that each one there is special to me and like a second family. After a very long day, flight, aches and pains of life, etc, it's nice to go "home" for some R&R with people who genuinely care about this old man. I have stayed in the nicest hotels in the world, but there is nowhere like Hilton Capitol Center. Is it perfect, no, is it wonderful, absolutely yes.
