  • The icon is still pretty great

    Of course it all starts with the valet parking team which is very attentive and professional. The lobby is large, yet cozy. Be sure to remember to use your key card in the elevator,or you will be stuck in the Twilight Zone, until you figure it out! Our room was very comfortable--each room is at least a mini-suite. A few quirks though--need to call room service for ice, need to request a refrigerator if you have food leftovers, only regular TV is free, and the wall paper is peeling everywhere. Also, we opened the mini-frig only to discover it fits mini-bar items only, and we got charged $9, even though we didn't take anything out. Finally, room service food is excellent and prepared quickly. The open faced salmon bagel is a meal!

  • Valentine's Day at the Hotel DuPont

    My wife and I purchased a Groupon for a room at the Hotel DuPont for Valentine's Day. We made reservations for dinner at the Brandywine Room because the Green Room is undergoing renovations. We both ordered macaroons as a surprise for the other. Oops. That's a lot of macaroons!

    The hotel room was comfortable, but dated. There was a musty smell in the hallway. The blackout screen on the window was broken and taped in place. When I let the front desk person know about the screen when we checked out, he didn't seem at all surprised. The thermostat in the room did not appear to control anything, and the room never got quite warm enough.

    Valentine's Day dinner in the Brandywine Room was wonderful. We had chateaubriand and caesar salads for two and a nice bottle of wine for about $200. Certainly not cheap, but not unreasonable for a great meal with great service.

  • Great hotel

    what a great experience, we look for historic hotels when ever we can. we a had a luxury king room, which was spacious, and mt GF loved the soaking tub.The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food court was a nice surprise, where wer had thin crust pizza. we dinned in the main dinning room and ordered the chateaubriand which was excellent. The specialized bread tray for $4 was over priced and should be included with dinner. The chocolate cake looked awarded winning but the taste wasnt there. our waitress took it off the bill

  • A quick time away

    My wife and I stayed at the hotel for Valentine's Day. We had dinner at the restaurant, which provided a special, but limited menu. The food was OK, but expensive. The servers and the staff at the hotel are very friendly, which made the overall stay a good experience.

  • Beautiful hotel full of charm

    It is our valentine's after valentine this is a romantic place the room is huge the bathroom large bath and shower huge TV screen love the old charm style valet parking not included but safer we'll have the fantastic brunch tomorrow morning
