  • A short stay in wonderland

    by anotherroadwarrior2 on 2019-08-26 10:23 am

What a beautiful hotel. Dresden is a small city so it's easy to see so much of the place. Plus, the second weekend in August is the annual city fair which means huge crowds, loads of street food and just tons of energy. But at any time the Hotel Kempinski would be worth it. Historic, yet simply lovely. Great breakfast included and a wonderful location. Visit!

  • Wonderful hotel well worth its five star rating

    by Christine G on 2019-08-21 04:09 am

This is an amazing hotel. It's huge, a real warren of rooms but it's easy to get to where you want to go due to the easy sign posting. Our room was equally big and really comfortable. The swimming pool and spa area are fantastic, although you have to be prepared to go naked in the spa. Everything is spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. There are four restaurants; we would have preferred the fish restaurant but this was for reservations only. We ate in the bistro and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks.

We were cycling the Elbe but having bikes was no problem. The concierge sorted these out for us.

We did not have breakfast as I don't eat much at breakfast so the cost did not seem justified. However, I believe it is good.

  • Excellent Hotel in Dresden

    by Europeantraveler0504 on 2019-08-12 07:33 am

We were checked in by Antonio and also Phillipp helped check us out. This is a gorgeous hotel. The bed was comfortable and they have many places to eat and shop right at the hotel. There are also many places just to sit and relax in the lobby. Our room was a little warm and then we found out that we really didn't have A/C, we had an air purifier. However, they had a really nice fan that along with the purifier made it feel as if we had central air. It is a beautiful building and a short walk to the main square. Breakfast started at 6:30 and was great. The chef could make you your eggs however you like. Overall, I believe we chose the best hotel in Dresden.

  • Great service and breakfast

by CatLux on 2019-08-06 07:16 am

We stayed two nights at this hotel end of July. Our comfort room had twin beds and we had asked for a queen bed. Mr Nowak at the desk was very helpful and graciously upgraded us to a junior suite with a king bed. Breakfast was excellent ( freshly squeezed breakfast). The concierge who helped us with the bikes was very efficient ( thank you) and the tips given for dinner were all quite good. My only complaint would be the lack of AC. Staying at a Kempinski is always a lovely experience.

  • Kid friendly, beautiful hotel, a memorable visit

    by Navitimer1881 on 2019-07-29 09:51 am

With two young kiddie in tow we opted for a Kurf?rsten Deluxe Room and we weren't disappointed. The room was yyyuge and kids were given their own amenities kits and bath robes - a nice touch. The generic supermarket coffee pods on the other hand were awful; at almost 250EUR a night Kempy should be able to provide legit nespresso pods.

The breakky spread was extraordinary. Definitely a case of quality over quantity. Most of the guests seem to be conference attendees and corporate travellers. Weather permitting you should eat in the gorgeous courtyard and admire the beautiful architecture.

We parked in the underground car park behind the opera house for a tiny fraction of hotel's rates. It's an 8-min walk from the property and in spite of the roadworks and the relentless scaffolding ravaging Dresden, conti-park is open! Get a conti-park card sent ahead of your trip then it is 4,50EUR for 24 hours of parking there.

To echo some of the earlier comments here: i also found at times the staff seemed quite distant and indifferent; folks at other hotels in Germany we stayed at certainly came across as being much warmer and more engaging.

Great and memorable hotel nevertheless. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

    Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at our hotel during your stay in Dresden. We are pleased that you enjoyed your time with us and that we were able to convince you with location and our beautiful courtyard . "Kid friendly, beautiful hotel, a memorable visit " - is an amazing compliment and we would like to thank you for the positive words. Thank you for your feedback to the offered coffee pods - The coffee capsules come from a regional supplier, which is just as qualitatively high quality as the mentioned espresso capsules.

We would appreciate if you would visit us again and give us the opportunity to provide you another pleasant stay.
