  • Covid lockdown suggestions

    We're in the property now. Our visit will end this week.

    While trying to make the best of a bad situation (the Governor says no restaurants open other than take out) I would suggest that tables in the courtyard spaced appropriately would make our stay so much more enjoyable.

    Hoping the hotel will get back to normal soon!

  • Needs significant work. Best Western a better value. Not luxurious.

    Outside of the TVs, wall art, and newer leather couches/chairs, which by the way are very nice, the hotel needs significant work.

    Considering La Posada de Santa Fe markets itself as a luxury resort, you could call it a dump.

    Everything is outdated and very worn, if not semi-dilapidated. Tiles need new grouting. Walls have stains. Furniture is excessively scratched. Carpeting has seen better days. Other furniture is mismatched, like the modern Ikea-like table the Keurig coffeemaker sits on. The TV stand doors were warped and didn't close fully.
    And I had a suite -- one of their better, more expensive rooms. I would hate to see basic rooms.

    Also, there are almost no electrical or USB outlets. The outlets on the desk didn't work. No room in the bathroom for any toiletries. The bathroom was small and very dated. Not even shabby chic. Just old and worn.

    The closet was almost nonexistent. You can't put anything in it. I don't know how anyone would stay here for more than 1-2 days because there's no storage. There wasn't even a luggage rack for a suitcase.

    I had a huge fridge, which was nice but didn't match the decor at all. I also expect a stocked mini-fridge at this kind of hotel, not something that looks like it belongs in a college dorm room.

    Coffee was cheap Keurig coffee. For a resort that is supposedly AAA four-diamond, I expect something better than the cheapest of cheap coffee. An espresso machine or something.

    No bottles of water in the room. None at all. No bathrobes. No slippers. No magazines or local tourist information.

    Valet parking is suspended. Instead, they charge you $10 for self-parking. But the parking lot is tiny. It was 100% full, forcing me to park in handicap parking. Thankfully, no ticket.

    Look, I get that many of the services have been cut back or eliminated because of coronavirus, which I understand, but the hotel needs to advertise this at booking. It doesn't.

    Right now, you get better value for money at a Best Western. The hotel would be better off just closing.

    But regardless, the physical condition of the hotel is very bad for the price and supposed star/quality level and rating.

    A fresh coat of paint, some newer furniture and attention to details would go a long ways. Until then, this is hardly a luxury hotel.

    Also, be mindful that ground-floor rooms have almost no privacy whatsoever, unless you keep your window curtains closed all day. And if you leave your windows open someone could cut the screen and break into your room.

    Next time I'll stay at the Holiday Inn Express or Fairfield Inn.

    Thank you for your feedback. This is a ground level casita style hotel. A large portion of the grounds are historic and are laid out as they were 100 years ago. Hand made adobe walls, beautiful grounds and historic fruit trees.

    Normally, we would have valet but our current situation has made it so we have had to shift to self parking. The positive is that it's only 10 / day and we are not putting someone in your vehicle.

    We are trying our best under the circumstances and I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. We are all very excited to get back to normal and hope you stay safe.

  • Beautiful Property with Excellent Service

    While I saw some negative reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided to book and were extremely happy with the result. Both Amy and Elizabeth at the desk were extremely helpful in getting us everything we needed (we were a smidge needy with our requests, but nonetheless they a assisted without any hesitation). The room was beautiful, beds were comfortable, location was perfect and property itself was so gorgeous. Don't let the negative reviews dissuade you, this property is great. Thank you for the amazing stay, this will be our go-to place anytime we are in Santa Fe!

  • Poor service cancels out a beautiful, unique property

    Arriving at the hotel on a toasty afternoon, I realized instant relief from the chilly reception of the front desk staff. As a Titanium-level frequent guest, I'm spoiled with far better welcomes. As is habit, I asked if I was upgraded, and I was informed, "yes, you have a fireplace". Funny, my room rate was for a fireplace king. I realize in these COVID days and commensurate occupancy rates that upgrades are hard to come by. Oh, and that fireplace? The room smells like a campfire the day after you douse it with pond water. You really don't want it.
    On the upside, the setting is pretty. And being one of the few guests, it is nicely quiet.
    With my job now taking me to Santa Fe every month, can't say I'll be back. Perhaps give it a try after COVID-craziness calms down. Maybe the staff will be more welcoming then.

I'm sorry that you did not feel this way about your room. I do hope that you were able to enjoy the patio being that the weather has been truly beautiful.   • Amy the front desk clerk was terrible

    this Posada resort was the worst experience hotel ever. It's pitiful as it is part of Marriott chain and shouldn't be even classified as resort category. The service was even below Hotel 6 chains....Amy was extremely rude ?
