  • A Classic

    Son-in -law booked us a 2 room suite for 1 night. The lobby has a very classic, "old school" hotel feel. Note all of the art work in the ceiling of the lobby. We had no issues at check in, staff was efficient and pleasant. Rooms were large, clean, and well appointed. I even had to use the iron and it was clean. It is a short walking distance from many fine restaurants and bars. Is also about a 20 minute drive to the airport. Would definitely stay ther again.

  • Disappointing stay

    Stayed here twice in the past three weeks on reservations booked months ago. First, the rooms have a distinct unpleasant smell. I do not know if this is from the cleaning materials or the building itself but it is a musty bad smell that we experienced in both rooms. This past weekend it was so bad that we literally went out and bought deodorizers for the room. Next the drain in the bathroom sink did not work as the water filled up shortly after it was turned on and then took several minutes to drain. We contacted the front desk twice and it was never fixed. On Saturday we left the room at 11:30 am and returned at 600pm. The room had still not been made up by housekeeping when we returned. We called again and they had it taken care of when we returned from dinner. Unfortunately, the pillow cases were stained. Just a terrible experience. I am a loyal Marriott customer and will never return here.

  • Wedding

    The staff with regards to security was awful, also they claim to have 24/7 room service which is a lie. Overall it was a terrible experience but it epitomized Syracuse, NY. I would highly avoid this place for a wedding or an extended stay.

    Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We're saddened to hear that your experience was anything less than completely enjoyable. Our Security staff typically does a terrific job responding to our guests' needs and I am sorry that it didn't happen in your instance.
    Our in room dining service is indeed available 24/7. After 11pm we have limited menu though. Only cold snacks and deserts.

  • Not good from the start

    First of all, I called before we came to verify that self parking was connected to the building. I talked to the front desk in fact

    When we checkin first they gave us the wrong room. Then when I asked about parking I find out we have to drive 2 blocks and walk to the hotel. Not inside. I was very clear before we made the reservation. Yes you can valet. But many places have attached self parking. This one does not.
    And it charges hourly.

    When I have to come and go for meetings, this is the last thing I want to do is walk 2 blocks back and forth

    I can't imagine what this is like when the weather is cold. Either way, I would not have made reservation here.

    I am sorry to hear about the communication issues you experienced with our staff. I will be visiting the topic with my team to ensure that we are all conveying the same message to our guests, as we never want you to be disappointed when you arrive at the hotel.

    Our parking garage is not attached; it is across the street from the hotel. I am sorry you were misled in that regard. We do offer valet parking for our guests, which is much more cost effective and convenient if you will be going in and out at a $20 flat fee per day with in and out privileges at no additional cost. Our self-parking option is indeed hourly (or $16 overnight), so it is more cost effective for those who are leaving the vehicle and not picking it up again until they depart.

  • Beautifully renovated Grand Dame

    This grand 1920's hotel has been immaculately and faithfully renovated. The lobby is stunning. The rooms are spacious, understated, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service is not as formal as it once was -- room service comes in a brown bag-- but the overall experience is excellent.
