  • AMAZING location and tour, not so amazing hotel

    by Ben732 on 2019-11-13 04:38 pm

Maybe 50 years ago the hotel was good, but the bungalow we stayed in was VERY outdated.

The restaurant wasn't good. The service was very slow and the food was simply not tasty.

The only reason to go there is due to the fact that you can get into the park at 5:00 am, before everyone else, with a guided tour for 3000 pesos a couple, and that is definitely the way to tour the park.

  • Nice hotel terrible restaurante

by seasonedvisitor on 2019-11-12 09:50 pm

The hotel is very nice and clos to the maya ruins of Chichen Itza. It has a private entrance to the ruins. For the light and sound you have to drive. The problem is that the rooms are very farone from the other and from reception and restaurant. There is no telephone in the rooms, so if you need a buggy car to move, not a chance you may get one. Restaurant is terrible. Food is very bad, and service even worst. They forget what you order, and bring different things. We ask at breakfast one without egg, becuae of allergy, they bring it with eggs. The other person got something they didn't ask. Avoid the restaurante at all cost. You complain at reception and tehy do not care. Fill a form is the answer.

  • Great hotel, but think twice about guided tour

by Jennyfare on 2019-10-27 07:31 am

We really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, and the restaurant was really good. We would return to this hotel.

We stayed here to be able to take advantage of the early entry to the Chichen Itza site. Upon check-in, they were on a really hard sell for us to take their sunrise guided tour. We were told it was only 700$ extra over the regular entry fee. Finally we agreed to this.
The extra figure was not accurate, and despite being there an hour before sunrise, our guide did not take us to see the sunrise at the ruins.
He was knowledgeable, but we did not feel that $3,000 pesos was at all worthwhile for an hour tour. Regular entry is around $450 pesos/pp... so $1000 pesos for a guide would have been reasonable, but not $2000 :(

Thanks for visiting our Historic, beloved Mayaland!

Our Federal government, through the National Institute of Antropology and History, charges, as they should, a special fee for a custodian of theirs to make shure no one vandalices the temples, takes objects, etc. The fee is very reasonable. The experience is without parallel.

    Safe travels.

  • Magical place, magical experience

    by jacysN5971FS on 2019-10-26 04:53 pm

I originally booked this hotel because it was the closest to Chichen Itza and was highly rated. I only booked one night because I was travelling from Tulum to Chichen Itza the day of my stay and then to Cancun the next evening. I didn't know any details about the hotel but form the moment I set foot there I had an amazing experience.

I wish I had take the receptionists name because he was so kind and super helpful
(Thursday 24th to Friday 25th October). He informed me of the 5am chichen itza tour, which was priced at 1,500 pesos. Which, for a 3 hour tour was very well priced. Considering how busy the site is, the opportunity to have it almost to yourself with a professional, entertaining and knowledgeable tour guide is almost priceless. We were lucky to have a perfectly clear morning to see the Ruins under the stars.

Ever moment of my stay here felt magical and the hotel staff did there very best to help us even though we were staying just one night. They repeatedly offered to accommodate my girlfrienda dietary requirements, sometimes on the house.

I will remember how special this short stay was for the rest of my life. I will reccomend it to my friends and I wish I had stayed longer.

    Thank you mayaland

  • Amazing Location

    by deborahfW322SC on 2019-10-13 01:57 pm

This hotel resides in the backyard of the Chichen Itza ruins. The rooms and bungalows are sparse but lovely; the grounds are phenomenal. We ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and never ever had a bad meal. Breakfasts are buffet and a mile long. I can't wait to go back!
