  • Most amazing place

    by Vacation00835223357 on 2019-03-13 07:19 am

La Costa is just magical. The resort is beautiful. We enjoyed an amazing meal at Bobs Steak House the food and drinks were exceptional. The day at the Spa was relaxing, the service, treatments and food made for a great day for me and my girl friends. I will definitely be back.

  • Tennis Program

    by Peachy0705 on 2019-03-11 09:13 am

The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Housekeeping is ok. I had to ask after three days of not having my room cleaned, if they could atleast refresh the towels.
The real gem of this resort is the tennis program! Unbelievable staff! Reza was the BEST instructor! He is great and improved my game tremendously. I will absolutely be back to this resort b/c of the tennis program!

  • Beautiful Resort! Didn't want to leave!

by CindyJstc on 2019-03-05 07:27 am

Everything you need is onsite! Restaurants, shops, golf, cocktails, pools, spa, large rooms with patios! Wished we had a week to stay and relax! A weekend didn't feel long enough! Management was also kind enough to allow a late checkout on Sunday!

  • Great property, old rooms and beds

by carlglt on 2019-03-04 07:24 am

The Omni is a substantial, palatial property, but one in need of some maintenance capital. From the dirty looking white buildings in need of a power wash, to rooms that smell like old perfume and extremely uncomfortable beds and pillows. My wife enjoyed her spa day, and we had a great dinner at Bob's, but we didn't sleep at all that night in the spongy bed. The opposite of what we were looking for on our baby moon.

  • This hotel has serious issues that need to be addressed. 3 Star Rating at best, not worthy of 4

by ShopSD on 2019-03-02 010:21 pm

This was my first and last visit to the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. I spent the weekend at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in an effort to get away from the hustle and bustle of work, and relax for the weekend. The resort described itself as a 4 start luxury resort, and looked inviting on their website.

However, upon arrival, we had several issues and disappointing experiences.

    1. We had to switch rooms 3 times, before being given a room that need have mold, wet floors, or smell like floor cleaner. Staff was not apologetic for room issues.

    2. Bathtub caulking had rust on it. Shower door had corner broken off

    3. Since we were on a pampering, relaxing weekend get away, we decided to order room service and enjoy breakfast in bed. We ordered over the phone and was a bit surprised to receive our order in plastic to go containers, with disposable utensils and our coffee came in disposable cups. Considering they are a "4 star rated" resort, we expected the usual trays with silverware and china plates and cups for our meal. When asking for ceramic mugs for our coffee, we were told that the hotel is using disposable serveware to "reduce our environmental footprint". How does that make any sense??? You are contributing to landfills!
A "4 star" resort cannot serve food like this.

I assume this decision was made to save $$$ but I cannot fathom its more cost efficient to use disposable materials than just hiring someone to wash dishes. As a environmental conscious California resident, I was very turned off by this.

    4. Lastly, we did have a situation with an insect in our room and had to call the front desk several times to have someone remove it.

    5. There are two lights next to each bed. They do not work.

    6. TV system is outdated and very difficult to navigate. Remote control is not responsive, tv software is response is delayed. Not a smart tv (no netflix/hulu).

I will say, the food we had for our room service meal, and later enjoyed at the cafe, was delicious. So thumbs up for the food. Property is beautiful.

I'm genuinely appalled by the condition of the resort, the level of service and outdated conditions. I hope management considers the following upgrades (or their rating is changed to 2.5 or 3 star resort).

    1. Upgrade all technical aspects (upgrade tv system, add smart tv)
    2. Remodel and upgrade all rooms and have thoroughly cleaned. Repair damages, remove rust or mold. Check that all room amenities actually work, if not, then repair.
    3. Train staff for high standard of customer service. If something goes wrong, staff should be apologetic not snippy. Staff should react to customer requests with a sense of urgency.
    4. Room service: Go back to an eco friendly serving style. Use china plates, silverware and cups + glasses. Deliver on trays. A luxury resort needs luxury amenities, including serving room service in style and not like McDonalds. And for the sake of the environment, stop serving anything in disposable containers. This is a big no no.
