  • Over night

Small room with separate beds allthough booked twinbed. Interior quite oldfashioned. Not very comfortable beds. Breakfeast was also quite modest. A lot of different herrings, but ex. no fruits etc. Visit was unsuccesful.

  • Stopover

Easy to find and spacious parking, in front of the Hotel.
Arrived late and received fast and friendly check in.

Surprisingly large Hotel with quite a long walking distance to the room. Very basic small room with 2 narrow single beds, which were okay comfortable with plenty pillows.

Small TV, no English channels. No coffee facilities or water. Everything very basic and clean. Good WiFi

Due to my late arrival, I missed the opportunity to try the restaurant. Based on most reviews, I should be quite good.

Basic breakfast with what you need. Great coffee!

Beautiful surroundings for a morning walk.

  • Nice spot to stumble upon

by WanderingSparrow on 2018-08-21 11:57 am

I stumbled upon this hotel on a trip to Brekstad, when all the hotels in Trondheim and a 40 mile radius of the airport were booked. But it was a happy stranding. The hotel is located on a beautiful lake south east of Trondheim, and 30 minutes directly south of the airport. Dinner was tasty, beautifully presented, and when I wanted just a small plate the kitchen indulged me. This is definitely a hotel I will return to on a return visit to Trondheim.

  • Fantastic atmosphere, very nice surroundings

    by 706kyrrea on 2018-05-29 011:59 pm

Visited Selbusj?en for the first time. Really nice and sunny weather and we felt very welcome when we arrived. Room was quite and cosy with all standard equipment. We had booked wine tasting and three course menu. We were guided by the CEO through several nice wines from Piemonte Italy. All of them with interesting and fun facts from the region. The menu was put together with many local specialties with good taste. Specially the blue cheese <<Selbu- Bl?>> and dry salted meat was very good. We really enjoyed our visit and will highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.

  • Extra small room. Nothing to do.

    by jbc7200 on 2017-09-13 05:10 pm

We had an extra small room. The bathroom was even smaller with a corner shower. When you took a shower the entire room was wet. The hotel is a former sanitarium so I know from talking to others that the rooms vary a great deal in size and functionality. It is out in the country by itself on a lake and has very few amenities and sits alone without other things to do around it. The breakfast was only adequate. Our evening meal of Norwegian meatballs, however, was delicious. Go for a walk down to the lake.
