  • Delightful boutique hotel in the heart of Paris

by MaksimsReviews on 2019-05-22 01:43 pm

We came here for a weekend and had a completely enjoyable time, despite some minor hiccups.

Located in the heart of Paris, just a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower, this place is perfect for a romantic weekend. When we checked in, we did not receive the type of room which we initially had asked and booked, but after addressing this, our room was quickly changed.

The rooms at the top floor are relatively small, so I recommend to go for lower floors. Nicely furnished and designed, they offer an excellent romantic experience. We had to call room service and the concierge several times and their reaction was always quick.

The lobby bar is small, but pretty cozy for a late finish of the evening with a glass or two of champagne. The staff was friendly and helpful.

In conclusion, this place is definitely highly recommended if you are up for a romantic weekend.

    Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience at the Sofitel Paris Baltimore Tour Eiffel.
We feel very pleased about your comment and rate.

The building has been built in 1860 and represents the typical "Haussmanien" building of this period of time. This reasons might explain the size of the rooms (regarding the category of room booked), but it gives this cocooning ambiant to the hotel as well.

We would feel very honored to welcome you back at the Sofitel Paris Baltimore for your next stay in Paris!

On behalf of the Sofitel team, we remain at your disposal for any further information.

    Sincerely,
    Patrick - Guest Relation

  • A very nice boutique hotel

    by jamesccc13 on 2019-05-17 01:11 pm

Like all boutique hotels, this place has some quirks - not all of which are charming - but the positives outweigh the negatives here, so don't regret booking as long as the price is right.

Positives: by and large the staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating. The old building has some nice touches, like the beautiful staircase. The room was clean and in decent shape overall. Having Herm?s toiletries was a nice touch, I guess, but the only unique benefit it provided was giving my girlfriend an opportunity to take a picture of a bottle with the Herm?s name on it. The hotel is conveniently located - the Kleber station is nearby and connects to many larger hubs like Charles de Gaulle Etoile, which is a couple stops away.

Negatives: the first "deluxe" room we were shown has a flight of stairs down as you enter the room. At the top of the stairs was a closet-sized room housing only a toilet. This means that if you use the toilet, you have to exit, walk down a flight of stairs, and enter a separate room with the sink and shower to wash your hands. Very weird layout. We requested a switch to a different room of the same caliber and got a much more normal room. The view from most rooms isn't great, looking back into an alley, but we didn't find it too important. Also, the shower was a bit finicky, and had a fixed pane of glass (which we have come to despise about European bathrooms since it lets water get out onto the floor!)

Overall we liked our stay here and would return if the situation arises.

  • Excellent service

by MKash on 2019-05-10 08:53 pm

Excellent hotel within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Troimphe.

    Excellent check-in. Very pleasant.

The room was much smaller than the hotel I was coming from (in London- which was unusually big for London)- but overall for 1 o 2 people I think the room was decently sized.

The washroom is divided into two. One part is a small WC area and the other part is the bathing area. 2 separate doors in two different part of the room. Not the most convenient but if you are 2 of you, then it actually becomes an advantage.

Had breakfast- and the omelette was excellent. Spread was expansive.
For drinks sat at the bar in the lounge area- had an excellent red, I think Chateau de Giscours - I think a 2nd wine. Excellent.

    Service overall was excellent.
Will I go back again: yes, for sure.

  • Great hotel if the room is right

    by chuck4-1321 on 2019-05-07 09:11 am

When we first checked in for our 4 day stay, the room was on the first floor with the window opening up to a large airconditioner condensor unit with whole bunch of pigeons. The room itself was tiny. With our two luggages and 2 people in the people, not enough room to barely walk around. Couldn't see ourselves staying here in this "closet" for another 3 days.
Next day when we asked for a better room, higher up, without views of the pigeons hanging around the air conditioner unit, the front desk person was very happy to upgrade us to a higher floor with a balcony and a much better view.
The room was also a little larger, so was the bathroom.
They literally changed the sheets to a new one every day, including the pillow cases and conforters.
Aside from the first day, our stay at this hotel was great, and very comfortable and extremely pleasant.
