  • 2 night stay in a beautiful city

by shazwri on 2019-09-16 03:30 am

Hotel is very close to a tube station but if you like walking it's still good. We parked our car which is expensive but it is a large city and parking is scares. The hotel is lovely and clean and the rooms are quite nice.
Things I didn't like ..Breakfast :you get 30 dollars per room to spend on a breakfast station, very limited.
We were told on arrival that they charge all guests 25 dollars per room fee: this included WiFi,coffee in the morning, wine between 3pm to 5 pm ( smallest glass ever) and 2 bottles of water.. it's a good deal if you use the offer but as we didn't we ended up paying 50 dollars for 2 days internet and 2 glasses of 100ml of wine! I think it would be better to be offered the package or just internet.

  • Great location

    by PunkyB13 on 2019-09-09 12:28 am

The hotel is conveniently located by the North DuPont Metro. There is a vast selection of restaurants just 500 feet away. Hotel is clean, roomy and has a pool table! The morning coffee is included in hotel fees. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I initially thought of staying in a hotel closer to White House but I am glad I booked this hotel because the metro is just around the corner and there is no need to get an uber. We got a great deal through Priceline.

  • Nice Hotel, good location

    by nozge86 on 2019-09-04 10:11 am

The staff is friendly. I called ahead to inform the front desk that we would be arriving late and they were very accommodating. I liked that they provided complimentary bottles water. They really come in handy after a day of exploring. I felt the room was just right on space. We chose to rent bikes and there are plenty within a 2-block radius.

The reason I didn't give 5-stars was because I didn't feel the room was clean enough. There was dust behind the night stand, which seemed to have the closest plugs to the beds to charge our phones, and where I think was the rooms cooling unit, there was a lot of dust. One other reason was because a lot of the rooms appeared to not have a Do Not Disturb door hanger.

We're very happy there were many positive aspects to your stay and we appreciate your kind acknowledgement of the good work done by our staff. It was their pleasure to accommodate your late arrival and make you feel welcomed. We are concerned, however, that all was not ideal and we'll be addressing this matter with our housekeeping staff. Please accept our apologies that, on this occasion, our high standards for cleanliness were not evident. We hope you'll allow us another chance to earn the fifth star as we're certain any future stay at The Fairfax at Embassy Row will fully impress you.

  • Very nice hotel

by JohnofPhiladelphia on 2019-09-02 02:49 am

    I stayed one night. It's a lovely, old-world hotel.
My room was very large with a great bathroom and excellent shower. The bed was supremely comfortable.
It was expensive, even for DC, as was the hotel coffee shop downstairs, which served mediocre at best coffee. I went down the street for coffee after the first morning.
The location wasn't near any lively night life or activity, so if you want a quiet and old-world elegant hotel, this will do nicely.

    Owner Response

  • Historic and elegant hotel

    by lynnforever29 on 2019-09-01 12:12 am

We stayed 3 days and happened to be assigned to the top (8th floor) which was very quiet. The room decor is appointed in Old World (French?) decor, very lovely. Windows are plentiful and view to the northwest is of Embassy Row up to the National Cathedral. There are many restaurants nearby, and Georgetown shops are a short walk away along the Rock Creek Park trail.
We stumbled upon the tour at the Anderson House next door Which lasted 75 minutes and was so interesting.

    Owner Response
It's wonderful to learn that your accommodations, including the lovely view, added favorably to your DC experience. It also makes us very happy to hear that our location made it easy for you to enjoy the great sites of our city and that you had the opportunity to tour our neighbor, Anderson House. Thank you for the five star review and please stay again at The Fairfax at Embassy Row.
