  • Worth it

We were in town for one night to pick up a new puppy the next morning!
When we checked in they graciously upgraded our room which I sincerely appreciate. We were in room 602 in the tobacco barn. The room was incredible. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was reasonably priced as we prepaid. The staff was pleasant. We toured the work out room on a lower floor and there was distinct odor. We saw some water on the floor in the hallway so I assume it was related to that. We heard the spa is fantastic and the wedding venue is one of the best. In fact we were told they hold approx. 160 weddings per year. That may explain the propensity toward sex. There is a pillow in the room that speaks to " Tonight" and on the reverse side "Not tonight" There were two small Whoopee desert left for us that also had a reference to "Making Whoopee". I hope you get the point, lots of sexual innuendos and thin walls ( I heard the guy next door getting sick) Bottom line, super nice facility, nice staff, reasonable price and major emphasis on marriage and everything that goes along with it. Have fun!

  • Secret gem in Lancaster county

by luxtrvl on 2019-12-01 12:41 am

Beautiful quaint hotel with all the services of a full service hotel. It has a country feel though not one that I would say plays homage to Dutch country which is fine but if looking for that you may be disappointed. Rooms were nice and spacious. They have 2 restaurants, one with a 5 star rating though I didn't try either but looked very nice. Good selection of spa services. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area looking for a more luxurious stay in a country inn style full service hotel.

My husband and I recently visited Inn for a quick two-day get away after viewing photos and reviews online and checking amenities. We traveled during the week. We are seasoned travelers so we were surpisingly disappointed. Advertised 2 restaurants on site - casual and more elegant. When we checked in and asked about making reservations we were told better restaurant is closed during week and other restaurant did not open until 4. There was no apology for false represntation - no attempt to recommend other restaurant in area (there are none). There was absolutely nothing around. "Rural countrside" - lie - view from our room was warehouse next door. Don't be fooled by attractive photos of rooms (better rooms at Holiday Inn). We had one of most generic rooms we've ever stayed in. Even though there were only 2 other cars in parking lot there was no offer to upgrade.

Also, don't be fooled by reponses from Inn about how they appreciate your critique and will attempt to do better. We only stayed 1 night at Inn- drove into Lancaster (10 miles away) and stayed at very nice hotel with upscale restaurant and breakfast in morning for less money. When we checked out and told front desk why we were dissatisfied, they told us we need to take up issue with booking site. We did and, after spending way too much time on phone were told Inn is refusing to honor our request for reimbursement for night we did not stay - they just said "too bad - we have no refund policy". I know they are probably desperate since it appears nobody is staying there this time of year, but this is just awful customer service. We are contacting our credit card company for satisfaction since we can't get it through Inn.

  • Birthday Stay

    by Anne C on 2019-11-19 01:22 pm

Stayed here this past weekend for two evenings for The Man's birthday, and we had a nice stay. We were greeted at check-in and given a run-down of all that is available then shown to our room by the doorman. He gave us a quick tour of the property and offered to help with bags.

When we got to our room he noticed several things that were out of place or missing and quickly remedied the situation and brought us a small bottle of champagne for the birthday boy. He was a wonderful part of our stay!

We stayed in the Amos King barn in a King Jacuzzi suite. The room was very large and well-appointed. The rough-hewn beams, wainscoting, and barn doors added to the charm of the room. The bathroom is situated on an upper loft. The Jacuzzi was part of the shower -- the shower head being hung just above the tub. The toilet was in a corner of the room, and though there was no door to the toilet space, there is a door to the room as a whole, so there is privacy when needed.

Toiletries are made specifically for the inn, and each has the "flying pig" icon on it, which is a totally adorable part of the inn, and the staff is more than happy to explain the meaning of it when asked. There were ample towels and washcloths, which were re-stocked in the morning, and in the evening there is a turn-down service. When you return to the room you will find the bed turned down, the robes laid out, and a fresh serving of Whoopie pies!

The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and everything was spotlessly clean. The heat/ac was very easy to control for comfortability, and though the room was large and open, it was simple to keep the room temp. within a good range.

The walls are thin, but we were on an end room, so that was a minimal disturbance. We must have been next to a service door, though, because there was constant noise from a door opening and closing most of the early morning and later into the day. We honestly were not bothered by this, but I felt I should share this with other travelers just in case.

There are two restaurants, a spa, a small gift shop, a salon and barbershop, and other amenities I know I've forgotten about. There really isn't much need to leave the property at all - it really is that well rounded.

We really had a nice stay, and appreciated how central the location is to other attractions. The staff was wonderful and friendly, and we will definitely be happy to stay again!

  • Fantastic place!

We spent the day at the spa which was fabulous! Customer service was top notch! Then checked into the inn which is beautiful! The lobby was really pretty and the room was big and really nice! Loved the beds and the shampoos and conditioners! The restaurant was very good on site. Everything was wonderful! It's a must to visit and see! Went for a girls weekend but would love to bring my husband next time!
