  • Very nice for a short stay

    by Harald035 on 2019-09-19 04:26 am

Mosj?en is a scenic small city between the mountains. Of course the range of hotels is limited. By any standars Fru Haugans Hotel is the best in town. Beautifully located by the river, at the foot of the mountain range you can enjoy the nature outside in the Hotel Garden. Inside, the hotel is modest, but clean and adequate. Ask for a quiet room, preferably in the new building. That will get you away from the noise of the hotel bar and the streets, and a better chance of getting a room with a view. The breakfast is well done and good quality, but of course not the range or size of a big city hotel. If in Mosj?en, stay here.

  • Really a 3.5 grade hotel, which they allowed 1/2 point values.

    by Steven D on 2019-08-31 11:31 am

This is a very nice and unique old hotel, which has a brand new wing which is modern. Unfortunately like most European hotels they have no lotion, conditioner or facial tissue, bath mat or air conditioning. In the shower with only one squirt unit which does not indicate whether it is shampoo or body wash. The door locking system is unique. So be very careful when you leave the room double check that it is locked. If when leaving if you put the card on the door it may lock it, otherwise you need to wait up to 1 and 1/2 minutes for it to self lock. The breakfast is very good. I rate this as a 3.5 star hotel.

Stopped here on our way from the North. Easy parking outside. Nice garden. The bathroom was from the 1960s ? Comfortable beds. Restaurant had a reasonable selection on the manu and we enjoyed our meal. THe housewine was good.

  • Beautiful location, disappointed with the room.

    by Linda B on 2019-07-20 06:42 pm

We have always been happy with this hotel and love the location of it, though it's noisy if you have a room facing the street. This time we had and did not get much sleep. Also the room was old and very hot. The room should have been renovated, we have had similar room before.... you should ask for a room in the new part of the hotel, facing the garden.
Breakfast was good, they offered coffee and tea at the table. Ok selection of food.
Had dinner at the new cafe , good food, enjoyed the fish soup and salad. They should have given information about the cafe option in the reception during in check. The hotel is somewhat kid friendly, but no playroom that I'm aware of.

  • Spectacular scenery

by Oakworthgirl on 2019-07-02 01:20 pm

This hotel was built in 1794. Beautifully decorated with period pieces, however we were on the 4th floor in one of the modern rooms. It was huge and delightfully decorated. The single bed was way too soft for me and I almost rolled out of bed to switch off my alarm clock in the morning. The bathroom had a large tub with a powerful shower in it. We were here on a half board basis. Dinner was served buffet style and there was a choice of either fish or pork as the main meal. The dining room with its comfy chairs and chandeliers was elegant. The view from the bar area overlooking the mountains and river is spectacular. In fact, the whole area in Mosjoen is like a living museum. A fabulous stay, shame it was just for one night.
