  • Great hotel lovely rooms

    by W0rldTraveller0912 on 2019-07-18 00:53 am

Location was great for us walking distance to the bus and train station. We didn't need to take a water taxi to get to the hotel. Beautiful decorated rooms. We had a room for 3. Rooms were on the small size. Beds comfortable. Hotel arranged a boat tour for 130 euros of Venice, they advised you get to see more than on a gondola, personal preference I suppose. Expensive hotel but comfortable.

  • Great hotel

This is a beautiful hotel located in a very nice part of Venice. We appreciated that it was away from the busy, touristy area but still easily accessible to St. Marks Square by either walking (about 30 minutes) or water taxi, we did both. We also used a water taxi to take us directly from the airport to the hotel door and that was an amazing way to arrive in Venice for the first time!
The room is beautifully decorated in the Venetian style and even though it was not very big it was comfortable for 2 people and was very quiet. Our room #528 overlooked the canal and had a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The bathroom was modern and had a nice shower.
All the staff were helpful and the breakfast was delicious with a large selection of food and a beautiful room overlooking the garden in the back.
Highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

  • Really great choice for cruises leaving from Venice, or just visiting the city

by AMSWALLACE on 2019-07-16 12:29 am

We took advantage of our cruise leaving from Venice and booked a deluxe triple room for my family for the night prior to our cruise. Since we arrived early in the day, we planned on having a full day and morning to explore the town. This hotel was recommended by our travel agent and ended up being a great choice.

Location: It was very close to the bus/train station, and our driver from the airport was able to park just a short 2 minute walk from the hotel. For those using a water taxi, the hotel is on a canal and has a stop right in front of it. The next morning, it was again a very short drive to the cruise port. We walked back and forth to Piazza San Marco through the back streets and it was a little over a mile. There were lots of interesting things to look at on the way, including the Rialto Bridge, shops, cafe's and restaurants. We did take the water bus down the grand canal and that was also easy since the hotel is only a block or so from the grand canal. It was close to, but not in the middle of the super touristy area, but we ended up really appreciating that. The concierge was happy to provide recommendations for dinner, even though the hotel has it's own very nice restaurant.

Hotel: The hotel was very nice. We were greeted by name upon our arrival and were promptly taken to our room, which had fast free wifi. Our room was large enough for a king size bed (two singles) and a single sized sofa bed. We had ample storage and a great view of the canal and square in front of the hotel from our balcony. There were plenty of plugs (and USB plugs) for all of our devices. It was quiet at night, and best of all the room was air conditioned. Our bathroom was very modern and they had great toiletries/amenities. We had welcome bottles of water and biscotti in our room, and chocolates arrived later. It was very comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was included with room, which we were very happy about. They had a really nice breakfast buffet that had something for everyone, and the cappuccino was delicious. The room was in the wintergarden with a nice view. Throughout our stay, all the hotel staff that we we met were professional and pleasant.

I think in Venice there is a little give and take. If you stay right in the middle of the very touristy areas you pay a lot to get back and forth from the airport/cruise terminal via boat dragging your bags. If you stay near this location, it's still very convenient, but cheaper transportation wise, and you can dump your bags and feel free to walk around without sacrificing the feel of Venice. It's easy to get to the main tourist areas when you want to do that. We have done both, and this version worked better for us.

  • Great location & Well appointed hotel

    by 1grtchr on 2019-07-03 12:52 am

We stayed at Hotel Papadopoli for 3 nights upon arriving to our trip to Italy. I didn't know how ideal this location truly was until after spending a day or two in Venice. First, it's right on the canal. So when taking a boat from the airport, you can take your luggage from boat to door with no trouble. No bridge steps to navigate or pulling luggage across bumpy cobbleston. Then if departing from the train station like we did, a simple 10 minute walk. You do have to cross two bridges with your luggage, but it is manageable. The hotel backs to a lovely garden, so breakfast in the morning has a wonderful view of the morning sun and garden. The hotel is away from the busy and loud San Marco area, which we appreciated. The rooms were nicely appointed with all the amenities you would need. Highly recommend!

  • Amazing Hotel

by beernu on 2019-06-30 06:59 am

What a great first place to stay at in Italy. The location is excellent! This is just a couple minute walk from the last place vehicles are allowed to drive in Venice, so dragging your luggage is a breeze to here. The location overall is outstanding and easy to navigate from. Right across the canal from here is a superb sandwich/beer/wine bar for quick bites but not too far from any other excellent eating places. Service here is outstanding. Breakfast was super complete and memorable. The rooms are spacious and one of the few locations that give you multiple keys per room. The late night bar is also very accessible and makes great drinks.
