  • Amazing 50th Birthday surprise!

    by Clarkyness1970 on 2020-01-16 04:28 am

We celebrated my 50th birthday in Venice and our stay at Hotel Papadopoli was superb! From the minute we got there, the guy on reception was so helpful and friendly and upgraded our room. On our first evening we returned to our room to find prosecco and strawberries waiting for us. Thank you so much!

The buffet breakfast was great, catered for all nationalities and there was so much selection, we were spoilt for choice.

Each night our bed was turned down with chocolates on our pillow, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were nice and clean and so was the bathroom.

I really can't fault the hotel, the staff were brilliant and the location was spot on!

Thank you for making my 50th birthday so special !

  • A nice touch of luxurt

by MarkandGaye on 2020-01-13 03:48 pm

We were so glad we chose Hotel Papadopoli for our special time in Venice. The staff went out of their way to make our stay very special. We were given the Casanova Room which we absolutely loved and had a nice view of the canal and beautiful old buildings. It was quite expensive so we did have some expectations and we were not disappointed. The only thing I felt could have been improved upon was breakfast. It was fairly basic and we expected more from a hotel of this standard. It did not measure up to the breakfasts we experienced in other quality hotels we stayed in on this trip. I would highly recommend the hotel though it is in a nice location and feels very special.

  • So awesome

    by beckyw754 on 2020-01-06 03:31 pm

My family and I stayed in a triple room and enjoyed it very much. We had a nice view of a canal and got to hear church bells every morning. Many places in Venice flood but thankfully I didn't see any water coming into this hotel. We took a taxi from the airport and rolled our luggage about 3 minutes and we were there! The location is very convenient and the staff was always so polite. I hope to return to Venice and the Papadopoli in the near future. PS, they have the best breakfast!

  • Perfect location, great hotel

by Travellinghack on 2019-12-29 07:05 am

At first glance we wondered whether we should be nearer S Mark's Square; happily we decided for this hotel near the Railway Station and the Bus terminus. Thus it is easy to get to and the immediate neighbourhood is crammed with restaurants and shops; a supermarket is nearby. The Grand Canal is only metres away; and a walk to the Rialto Bridge or St Mark's is not only fascinating but also around 20 minutes or so. . Altogether a perfect location which is matched by this beautiful hotel. Extra helpful staff; comfortable rooms marred only by the breakfast coffee which could be improved.

  • Not worth it

by meetdoshid on 2019-12-21 09:04 am

I had stayed at this hotel only one night. I had an extra day in Italy and I decided to check out Venice. Being a privileged member of the highest tier of this hotel group I book this hotel at the last minute. I checked in at around evening. The reception staff was courteous but totally forgot about my membership and did not offer me my membership benefits until i asked for it. They did not seem happy about it.

Despite of asking specially for a good view room, i was given a room with partial views. The balcony/terrance was stinking and was filled with bird poop. Clearly the room was not inspected before check in.

The rooms interior planning is poor. There is a huge lamp on the table which blocks your tv. There are many such small details that are not up-to the mark for a hotel which charges around $200 for a night.

The only good part of the hotel was its location, it was a 5 min walk from the Roma square which was easily accessible.

Overall, its not worth the money. Id rather stay at a hotel on grand canal which costs lesser and has better views.

    Owner Response
    Dear Guest,
First of all, we would like to express our apologizes for not having been able to meet your expectations during your last stay with us.
We sincerely regret reading your disappointment from your words, as we always give much importance to all loyalty members who choose our Hotel and put their trust in ALL brands. Please once again accept our apologizes if we failed in somehow.
The room we assigned to you was a spacious upper category with both balcony and view, a free upgrade you are entitled to, being a Platinum member.
Reserving this room our desire was to accommodate your request to have a room with these features; we are truly sorry for not having been able to satisfy your wish. As far as terrace conditions, they are daily cleaned by our chamber maids: in this particular city we face a battle with pigeon's behavior, and trust me when I say that our goodwill intervention is often destroyed a few minutes later our staff intervention. This is sadly a real issue for our city.
We hope you can give us a future chance to regain your confidence, and we take this occasion to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year 2020!
    Kindest regards
