  • Luxurious hotel experience in Potoroz

    We stayed at the Kempinski Palace in Potoroz in the off-season during January. The hotel is a beautiful landmark in the beach resort town of Potoroz offering both historic and modern luxury. The hotel is richly decorated with modern amenities, furniture and artwork. The reception and hotel staff are amazingly hospitable and professional; they will set the tone for the rest of your stay. Our room in the newer section of the hotel was one of the best hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. The hotel is walking distance to many shops and restaurants, however most were closed for the season so we spent most of our time relaxing in our room, sipping wine on our balcony overlooking the people walking along the boardwalk, and enjoying the amenities of the luxurious spa of the hotel. The spa and indoor pool areas are top-notch and we never felt that is was too crowded at any time (obviously off-season crowds are much more reasonable). The breakfast buffet was abundant and offered many choices of foods to include made-to-order eggs and coffee. The hotel bar was a perfect place to enjoy a drink or nightcap. (We did not eat at the one upscale hotel restaurant during our stay, and their casual restaurant was closed for the season). The one thing we did have to ask for was a hot water kettle to make tea in our room. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Kempinski Palace Portoroz for anyone looking for a luxurious hotel experience while in Potoroz.

  • The best hotel in Portoroz. A Sunday pool and sauna disaster.

    The best hotel in Portoro?. A central location. Staff is professional, friendly, helpful, and they act quickly. Beautiful building and impressive architecture. Delicious food in the restaurant. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, and clean. Beds are of high quality. The room service is fast. The gym is small but good. We will definitely come back.

    We rated Kempinski Portoro? four stars and not five. There is some room for improvement. Disappointments:
    - The internet in our room was awfully slow throughout our visit. I have not had so slow internet in any hotel for over ten years.
    - The Sunday in the pool and sauna area was a disaster. It was so crowded that we could not get chairs. Saunas were full and people waiting in lines to get in. Not a five-star experience at all. We paid a lot of money to relax and then we could not use what we paid for. There is a bar near the pool but it was closed. There were over 40 people by the pool, about eight people squeezing in one jacuzzi, and the pool was full too. There was only one employee working for the whole sauna and pool area. He was a pool rescue guy, and a receptionist, and floor cleaning guy, all at the same time. He was trying hard to do it all, but guests were upset. You could hear locals (primorski accent) - not guests of the hotel - in the pool and by the pool. We paid lots of money and locals come and occupy the hotel saunas, the pool, and chairs, and we could not get any chairs or sauna space. Unacceptable. Understaffed and poorly managed.
    - the pool and sauna area was dirty and smelled bad. The toilet seats, floor, and walls were dirty. 24 hours later there was still the same dirt on the toilet chairs, floor, and walls. Nobody cleaned it for 24 hours. There was an awful smell around saunas.
    - in the Turkish bath, one of the two water outlets is broken
    - in the gym, one of the two treadmills is out of service

  • Wonderful hotel

    As usual for Kempinski, this is a top-class facility. Unmatched in Istria.
    Lavish breakfast in a beautiful Crystal hall.
    Perfect service 24/7.
    Comfy king size bed in a room with perfect soundproofing.
    Pool and sauna areas are small, but if hotel is not crowded it is ok.
    Overall yet another superb Kempinski experience.

  • Xmas holidays

    Stayed for the second time during Xmas holidays, and just returned from a lovely week here. Perfect location, (the weather was also gorgeus :)), quiet and clean rooms, delicious breakfast & very nice facilities. Speaking about facilities, extremely friendly and enthusiastic staff especially resevalec who always had a smile on his face ??
    If you are going to Portoroz, you should definitely stay here!

    The restaurant Ribja kantina Santa Lucia down the street is also a great choice, if you are looking for the quality Slovenian seafood and truly amazing service.

    Dears,

    my husband and I are guests of your hotel and today we have provided the services of your spa. Otherwise we have both pedicures, I had a gel polish pedicure to. The pedicure did Mrs. Grazia and I must say that we are really pleased and very satisfied with her work and her behavior. She is very friendly, professional and extremly knows her work. So we also booked the massage for tomorrow. And ofcourse we are very satisfied in general with your hotel and spa center. I hope that we will come back soon again and enjoy your servicies and accomodation.
