  • Great location , very comfortable hotel

    Right near the beach, a short walk into town. Very serene and a beautiful building. Great spa with Turkish bath and heated outside pool. Very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was varied and fresh. Only critique would be the restaurant interior was a little dated and lacked character which is the opposite of the rest of the hotel.

  • staying here with Backroads and booked add on stay

    Our biking hiking trip with Backroads ends at this hotel. Three couples traveling together asked to book an add on night at the end of our trip. We made a mistake and thought the BR trip ended on Friday, October 4th so we booked an additional night for Saturday, October 5th. We told them we were extending our trip and would like to stay in the same room both nights. No one caught that we were off a night. Once we realized our trip ended Thursday, October 3rd -one night earlier than thought we asked to add the middle night October 4th. They said only 2 suites and 1 ocean view room were available that night. They said our classic room pre pay rate was non-refundable so if the 2 couples moved to the suite and one couple moved to the ocean view room and didn't want to change rooms every night we would lose the money for the 2 nights in the classic rooms completely it would not even go towards paying for the expensive room all 3 nights. After much back and forth with our travel agent to hotel and with Backroads to hotel on behalf of us, and getting no resolution from the hotel, We opted to lose the money for one night so we will just change rooms one night rather than 2 nights and we will lose the money for the last night. I am hoping someone from the hotel reads this and that may help them understand what has happened and be willing to upgrade us the first night to the same room category room so that we don't have to change rooms. Or at least credit us for the 2 nights classic room we paid and we will pay for the suite and oceanfront rooms all 3 nights. My thought is by hearing the problem third party they may not have known all of the details. The hotel looks lovely on the website and I have heard great things about the area, so we are looking forward to having 3 nights there. I am hoping by reaching out this way someone at the hotel may see our predicament and be willing to at least upgrade us the first night so that we don't have to move rooms.

    We thank you for sharing this information with us. We are truly sorry that the process of reservation was not up to your expectations.

    Please be aware that the Hotel is fully booked on the 4th of October 2019. Your agency contacted us to add the night of the 4th and we offer the only possibility to accommodate you on the last category available that we had.
    The agency did not mentioned your wish to cancel the night of the 5th. So this matter was not discussed.

    Regarding the deposit for the last night (room booked originally the 5th), it has been clearly mentioned to your agency that this amount will be used as a deposit to cover the balance for the new category of room booked.

    We hope you will be reassured on the fact that your deposit has been used for the new reservation.

    Our reservation department is at your entire disposal (h2050-re@accor.com) to explain further details or if your prefer give us your email address to transfer the confirmation sent to the agency.

  • Lovely place...not quite 5* yet

    A lovely location a little north of the main town in Biarritz. The staff, reception, conceirge and bar are all super friendly and helpful - rooms are well appointed, clean with high end products

    Where we felt a little let down was the spa area. With only a steam hamam (no dry sauna) and no place to rest after, aside from outside by the swimming pool - adjacent to the road and parking. So use was limited

    Worth considering but not quite 5* currently

  • Beautiful, clean, well located

    We checked into room #123 today after a long day of travel - what an absolute haven! Free parking right at the front door, the front desk clerk was helpful and polite, our concierge, Sergei, gave us a tour and explained all the hotel amenities and showed us to our room. We are city side (I imagine the seaside rooms would be worth the upgrade for the view and the sounds) but absolutely nothing wrong with our room. Clean, quiet, good size and well decorated. The bed and pillows are comfortable, big bathroom with an amazing shower- hot water and great water pressure.
    Just came back from dinner at La Grappe a Fromage (see review) to find the bed turned down and a little chocolate waiting for each of us.
    It was a 15min walk to the city centre. We will do more exploring tomorrow however for now, we saw steps to the beach board walk area within 25feet of the hotel parking lot. The lighthouse is directly across from the hotel.

  • Art Deco hotel beautifully restored

    This is an excellent hotel, recently refurbished to top notch standards. It is in an elevated position at one end of the bay near the lighthouse and with fantastic sea views. Rooms are situated around the stunning atrium, which gives the hotel its dramatic blend of modern and historic style. Smallish but adequate open air heated pool, which in September was blissfully quiet. Helpful and charming staff.
