    Very central location and very accomodating staff. I cant recommend this hotel enough. The price you pay for this type of room for a central location like Metropole is well worth it Great value for money

  • Poor service and Poor building facility

    I stayed in this hotel during my trip to Italy this past October. The weather had been seasonally warm, and when I checked into my hotel room, my room temperature was extremely high. I spoke to the hotel receptionist who informed me that the building was too old, ad since they already shut the air conditioner off, there was nothing they could do. I asked them if I could lower the thermostat but they told me that was not an option. For dining options they have a Michelin star restaurant however, when I made the reservation and went there for my dinner, I had to wait 45 minutes just to get a pasta dish. I had to miss my evening engagement even though I asked the server to expedite my order. When I spoke to the manager, he apologized for the service and gave me a free dinner.

    Perfect location on the canal directly, I liked so much because you take a short walk to be in San marco square in venice .... very kind and qualified team with good service, it's near to the top tourist areas Like Doges palace, museum corner, st. Mark basilica plus top branded retails around

    Having spoke to our travel agent a few times before we were due to travel and being told it was "safe" to go ahead with our holiday, we decided not to. We booked via a well known brand who tried very hard to get our booking moved to an alternative date but the hotel refused to help us. We lost out money in the end, it is very sad to see the devastation in Venice but would have thought this hotel would have been more accommodating with reservations people had.

    An awful experience. We checked out after one day. We arrived not knowing the extent of the flooding in Venice. We arrived during low tide. Warmly greeted at reception and impressed with their incredible offer of service. Next morning woke to the beginning of a high tide. We were basically stuck in our room from 9am to 3pm. No where to go apart from our room or to sit in a very dark gloomy hallway. Reception was completely flooded. No facility to make coffee or tea in our room. The only way we could get food was to have it delivered - plus pay the extra 20 percent for room service - which I found fascinating as there was no other way to get food. No updates on the flooding situation, no offer of the plastic covers on shoes to get around. Not even a free coffee or tea. And the next day it looked like the same thing. Best decision we made was to check out. Caught train to Verona and booked new accomodation on train. Don't go if floods are expected.
