  • Luxury!

    by charlielX6263JK on 2019-10-13 11:12 am

Superb hotel situated just next to the golf course(s) a stone's throw from the beach and a short walk into town. Rooms are great, really spacious and well appointed. Breakfast is excellent, great choice and beautiful food. There is a selection of bars/restaurants on site. Lovely views from the top floor bar area and there is an outside roof deck.

  • Not a 5* Spa Experience!!

    by pinkwindsor2015 on 2019-10-12 04:59 am

My husband treated me to a Spa Day (Autumn Deal) as I have had a difficult time lately and on the whole my experience was most disappointing.

My experience started during the conversation with the receptionist on arrival telling me that I could not choose between a 50 minute facial or massage and a 25 minute of each. I had checked this before arriving and I have a VERY clear email from Kate (Receptionist) to say that this wouldn't be a problem at all.

On to the Spa itself... it wasn't very relaxing to hear the workmen digging outside (!!) so I decided not to relax on one of the loungers!! So I went up to the rooftop hot tub. It was raining, but I don't mind that. Unfortunately, there is no-where to leave spa slippers and robe so they would be very wet when you go out. What do you do? Leave them in the corridor outside and then freeze before you eventually retrieve them? I also didn't witness any cleaning throughout the whole day that I was there. I used the Steam Room again after lunch and there were still tissues on the wet floor.

Despite the rule of no mobile phones, I witnessed several people abusing that by taking photos and even using FaceTime. I also thought that you couldn't take glass into the spa area but there was an empty bottle of champagne in the changing room bin.

My included lunch was very nice BUT the member of staff in the cafe really needs to have training with service in a 5* hotel. He clearly did not want to be there, no smile, light conversation and a couldn't care less attitude.

The Therapist didn't touch my neck once during the facial. Why?! And yet she cleansed my upper chest area. I trained as a Therapist and necks should be included in a facial and products swept up towards the jawline/face. The massage was only concentrated on the area that you initially indicate on the sheet. This wasn't explained to me at all so I ended up just having a small area massaged. After my 50 minutes, I then had to endure 5 minutes of hard sell for their products. I was even shown a product and asked "Would you be interested in buying it" This happened while I was lying down on the therapy bed!!

No-one asked me if I enjoyed my day when I left and no-one smiled or said goodbye.

I won't be back unless persuaded but they were far too many errors to warrant this a 5* Spa.

    Utterly disappointed.

  • Splendid Afternoon Tea

by melissacurrie on 2019-10-10 02:05 am

Lovely hotel and surroundings. This is a must for afternoon tea fans. Me and my sister enjoyed a luxury afternoon tea. Staff were very attentive we picked from a selection of teas and coffees and we received bottle water not extra charge. Food was out standing and the conservatory area is lovely to sit and relax and enjoy the selection of cakes. We were offered cake boxes to take out cakes home which I did my husband finished than off lol. We will hopefully be returning soon X

  • Tired old rooms same rate as excellent larger suites

    by 56visitor on 2019-10-03 01:09 pm

Not 5*. An Eden suite is, according to the hotel the same standard as a Fairway suite, and has the same price tag. The Eden is tired, furnishings are dingy and old fashioned, mirrored walls, dark red curtains, poo brown paint, dodgy cupboard doors and drawers of dark wood, the bathrooms are dated, we had a naff jacuzzi bath which was as deep as a horse trough with the taps middle front so the only entry was at one end, not enough towels, and a duvet that was heavy and felt cheap. No extending magnifying mirror or dressing table area, smaller TV, an exposed sink behind the sofa area, in fact few of the lovely added extras of the Fairway. Investment is much needed to update some of the rooms.
Front desk staff were not as efficient as they could be, there was a mix up with checking in details due to lack of attention, although the porters and bar staff were very attentive, pleasant and efficient.
The food was mediocre, the choice of drinks limited and unimaginative despite being over priced.
This is a 3* hotel masquerading as a 5, trading on its golf associations.

  • Mecca of golf

    by 141Dini on 2019-09-15 05:09 am

This is the heart of golf and a lovely hotel. We had a beautiful view of the course and the ocean. Breakfast was included in our plan and it was quite good. The location is second to none and the staff are friendliness and efficient. Highly recommended.
