  • Excellent quick stay

    by bachelor8 on 2019-10-18 01:54 pm

located in downtown and old town is right away. A lot of restaurants and bars were near the hotel. Marriott platinum and above can have a free full breakfast buffet or 50 credits for ordering menu in restaurant daily. Food in the dinner and breakfast was really delicate and delicious. Don't miss the bar in the highest floor which has spectacular view for harbor and old town. Fitness center was well-appointed. Front desk staffs were very helpful and efficient. Free street parking from 6 PM on Satursday to 9 AM on Monday.

  • Comfortable, clean.

One night stay for business and I decided to use my SNA to a 1 bedroom suite. Rooms are a bit dated, gym was compact but had the essentials, bar on the 15th has nice views of the city and waterfront. No lounge so they cooked breakfast at the restaurant which had the usual eggs, bacon, pastries. About a 15 min was down to the charming wharf area with shops and restaurants.

  • Chris Rivera Saved the Day

by BostonBree on 2019-10-15 11:22 am

First the basics, we had a great stay at the Westin. Quick check in, greeted by a tray of warm cookies and blueberry water in the lobby, room was ready on time. We got an upgraded room, which was very spacious for myself, husband and 3 year old son.

Dining options were decent, although I think their Kids Room Service Menu could use some revamping (what kid eats Fish Tacos or Veggie Platters? lol) The Late Night Menu items belonged on the Kids Menu: pizza, ham & cheese, mac & cheese. But I digress on that. The breakfast buffet was had nice choices.

Now on to our savior Chris Rivera. He was working hospitality and parking (employed by Unified Parking Partners.) When we went to leave the hotel our son, who is normally very well behaved, got excited and started to run out in front of us right into the street. We darted, but could not get to him fast enough. Chris swooped in and grabbed him just as he made it off the sidewalk. Quite possibly saving his life. We could not be more thankful for his quick reaction, care and kindness.

  • Well located, pretty hotel, nice views

This hotel is near the Portland Art Museum, lots of restaurants, Asian, Thai, Italian, pubs, lively walking area. A 10-15 min walk to harbor where trolly tours and water tours are frequent and well attended.

  • extensively remodeled landmark downtown hotel

    by David W on 2019-10-12 02:04 pm

This hotel was built in 1927 as the Eastland Hotel, and was built of red brick. This hotel is the tallest building in the older neighborhood. Nearly every building in this area of Portland is red brick, even sidewalks. This hotel was shut down for several years, gutted, and extensively remodeled within the last 10 years, so inside it is thoroughly modern but retains the classic exterior. There is a famous bar on the top 14th floor, which has a nice view of the water and surrounding downtown. The rooms and bathrooms are nice, and a good breakfast buffet is provided.
